  1. I can show you some great spots to shore fish cayuga for bass, trout, and perch. shoot me a pm when you've got the time.
  2. I was on little lake and the bite was at the same time. Funny how that works. Also the best bass day I've had out there with a 28" pickeral 12 bass with 2 five pounders over 20".
  3. I have'nt checked this year, but fall creek usually stays open until walleye closes. Artificials, and catch and release only. Again this was in the past and could've changed so check your regs.
  4. On cayuga in the late winter, early spring guys have great luck trolling streamers on fly rods. They use a fast sinking fly line, and white and grey streamers. They catch browns and LL's by staying between shore and the sailboat boueys. They take a couple of strokes, glide, then rock a couple of times for a jigging action. This same pattern has to work on spring browns on lake O
  5. I've noticed minimal wind drift inside 100 yds. I agree it's on the light side, but it does put the lights out. I would say it's great for the woods, but in open fields I'de prefer a .243. Also they now make a 22 grain bullet, but I hav'nt tried it yet.
  6. 17 hmr is a lot more devastating than most give it credit for. They're affordable, and much more suburban area friendly. I'll tell you from experience they knock them down and are great for fox also.
  7. Took my bow out yesterday with my ground blind at noon. Saw a beautiful 8pt at 1, 6 does at 3, and a flurry of activity between 4 and 5. No deer in those woods! Also saw turkeys, grouse, coyotes, and 2 hawks. Great end to a great season. 6 in the freezer for me. I enjoyed every outing, and hope everyone else had as much fun as I did. Judging from all the reports and pics most of you did. Now it's on to the hard water and casting for monster browns and LL's from the beautiful shores of cayuga.
  8. Tons of them at t-falls this past week
  9. This site is about all waters we share. Get some petitions going and I'm sure the guys on the site would be more than willing to help. Personally I'm willing to do whatever I can to protect naturally reproducing fish in any state or country. Good luck, and keep us informed.
  10. 23 with your own boat, it sounds like you can get your own salmon and deer. Sorry does that make me sound jealous
  11. I think alot of those deep marks are sturgeon. It makes sence that they would be down there eating whatever sank. I've trolled, and drifted sawbellys down below 200' and never had any luck. Next year I plan on trying to stick some big dead suckers down there on some big marks. I know you're not suposed to target those dinosaurs, but I need to pull one out of cayuga at least once. I see them dead on shore every year. A couple of years ago I found a 5'er on the shore at stewart park. They're really cool up close.
  12. Just a pup at 28, but the deer and perch respect my authority. Gotta be someone younger.
  13. Did you hang that 2nd buck on rt 327 cause if you did I saw him.
  14. I had a perch like that in sept on cayuga.
  15. I hunt tompkins, never got one like that. Did you weigh him. awesome congrats. There is still hope for me.
  16. My first trip to the big o I pulled into oswego pre dawn and could see waves coming over the breakwall. We trolled the harbor once, and then out we went. We hooked one coho, and lost it at the boat. I couldn't leave the wheel, and my buddy couldn't get to the net, so he watched it wrap around the rigger cable and break off. 12' waves in a 16' boat, great day on the water. Now I feel like I can handle anything tht the fingerlakes can throw at me.
  17. took another 3 yr old yesterday afternoon. 1 more tag for bow, but maybe I can get my girlfriend to pull the trigger.
  18. took a 3 yr old doe this morning
  19. I'm saying next year it will be anything in banana yellow
  20. I have to agree with zach on the montecs, they're awesome. As for mechanicals I say rage 2 blade, but they are illegal by the book, but when I asked a dec officer he said he wouldn't ticket for them. In my opinion almost any "cheap" broadheads paired with a good bow should do the trick. Any of them are more efficient than a longbow with flint tips, but they do the job to. As long as the shot is good any head on the market will do.
  21. you didn't see them cause they're down there at night , and probably herding them like smelt
