  3. solo huh? i have thought about entering that one but i also havent musterd a soul to fish yet this season. everybody i know has become so lazy and boring that i have had my feen on shore since may. could i fish with ya? shoot me a pm if ya would be interested.
  4. cant wait till they get a bit closer. ill be all over em like fleas on mono.
  5. i have always had an interest in atlantic salmon reintroduction. i thought it would never happen because of the lack of interest abroad. truth is this post shows that there is a hint of heritage left in you guys. heres another picture of our biggest of 3 atlantics caught in one single day on lake ontario, less than 100 yads from the mouth of the salmon river break wall. all released. third fish was smaller so i didnt feel the need to bring it abaord. the pictures are crummy because i wanted to release them as fast as possible. this is by far my favorite fish. the big one jumped 6 times. sometimes tailwalking for over 3 seconds. most importantly, thank you CRA!
  6. correction:take the marion river to Raquette lake. not cranberry
  7. lauch in blue mountain lake and take the marion river to cranberry lake. some big ole bass n pike in there. theres some huge lake trout in blue mountain lake but its deep.
  8. been trolling lately mike? floating weedmat minefields?
  9. 60 bucks isnt bad at all. close to home too. maybe i can roust the troops.
  10. they need to place slot limits for them and inform people that there is a difference between atlantics and browns. ive also recently heard people call them cohos too. sadly enough people are not encouraged to release them either. id love to see a comeback. i was lucky enough to catch 3 in one day in the plume of runoff from little salmon river this spring. it was the day to remember this year for sure. slot limits and oswego river fish ladder! we should be doing more to bring them back.
  11. the red ad white williams wabbler out on the flats in about 8-15 fow. consentrate on deeper spots on the flats such as depressions, slight channels or boulders. trolling neer high current funnel areas with structure with a large husky jerk will get you some pike and bass. consentrate on the shallower parts during the early mourning and the deeper parts during the higher sun. if fishing is tough, use a gulp worm on a small single hook crawler harness and drift in the current. youll limit right out on bass and perch.
  12. that your new boat mike? waja get? the boy cant get enough can he. thats what we looked like. lol
  13. thers a few browns right in the river in clayton, ive caught a few there but yeah...stony point = browns. you might even get into an all out battle with a titan sheepshead there too!
  14. hey now dont go and overlook the west end weed fish. thats where most of the tourney guys get the 10 pounders. they cast with spoons and jigs in 10-15 feet of water neer thick weed clumps. the east end is getting harder to troll cause people are mowing the seaweed around their docks and the floating weed mats are fouling out my trolling equipment. the east end fish are mostly 12-18 inch fish also. a 22 incher being a good catch.
  15. eeesh...mexico is good for gobys in late may through late july. thats about it unless you got a 43 foot scarab with twin bravos and mag454s to get in and out of temps.
  16. cant be cutting and burning the poplars...even though they are junk, the ruffed grouse relies on the seeds and buds to get through harsh winters. no poplars...no ruffed grouse.
  17. it looks like a banded killfish. tail fin is simalar but banded killfish have a transluscent look with vertical bands and that would be considered a very very large one if it were a banded killfish. its probly a killy but it very well may not be. id like a better picture to say for sure.
  18. black lake is full of muskys. now the walleye that are said to be there is beyond me. i fished hard for them and all we could ever catch was smallmouths, crappies and a couple whopper catfish. i have not caught one walleye anywhere in black lake
  19. the blind squirrel saying aint no good on lake o. if you want it so bad you stare at the downriggers all day then the lake "spirits" will mess with your head and your wallet. treat them fish like they are dirty nasty things and you dont want them on the boat anyways...your just out for a joyride, then....zing!!!! fish on. works everytime.
  20. not just a few... you guys are letting the cat out! just kidding, good luck and release the big ones.

WE GOT DEER!! wish i had a picture.
  22. never did too good in a-bay but had great luck in clayton. always get a mix of smallmouths browns and pike. got a lake trout before and plenty of whopper sheepheads too along with my only 2 muskys to date. clayton ranks up there for me.
