One of my favorites was always summer time wading wet in power plant outflows fishing jigs and live bait on light tackel my pb small mouth came that way one year a school of gar pike came in that will make you flinch reeling one of those in while standing waste deep in shorts. Lots of suprise fish that way. Always wanted to go sight fishing cobia in the chesseapeak one year found a way to catch dogfish by dangling a live bluegill half in the water amazing surface strikes would also like to try rooster fish and halibut Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  11. I think for videos you often have a very short lead that changes the action and can make it a much faster swing and roll so harder to hit back it up a little and it's more manageable but less erratic which is not always good Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Got to be a lot of misses no strap no chain no winch? My nightmare is the boat falling off on ramp that's why I never understood hook chains till the stern is touching water Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  15. i would jump on that fishing info from lakebound that guy knows that lake. I used to fish mostly Seneca untill i got a bigger ride and started hitting Ontario. August used to be great time to fish that lake. if you could find bait balls you could scrape Lakers from under and pop bows or land locks from up high. Sampson is a good starting point lots of good areas around there heck you can start trolling within 100 yds of the marina and be in good water. I have only fished Cayuga a couple times and it was out of Deans caught fish in both directions and again fishable water is right out of the shoot. great area of the state to be in for a fisherman
  16. monel is a single strand wire that is or at least was often used in the fingerlakes for hand lining. just like pulling copper i believe it has a slower sink rate than the single strand copper but I cant say for sure i never really got into it I tried once or twice but it did not excite me.
  17. so maybe this is a stupid question but i am just starting to try tourny fishing and looking at this one as fitting my schedule. what is the calcutta? and is the sign up cut off 8am or 8 pm?
  18. Get 19 strand wire and you can leave the factory tip on Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. The grip is nice because you can use it to hold without touching the gills also I like to get them towing than clean the deck and set up a pic that much less time out of water Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Accuracy is less important than repeatability Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Use torpedo 19 strand and you don't have to change the tips at all Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. 23. Trout and lake Ontario trout are very different things that box would be good in the Adirondacks. Don't underestimate those plastics in the tribs come winter though Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. I'm with skate I have a 7 hp Nissan kicker and can go 2 trips on 3 gallons trolling makes it easier to top off the tank for the main when it only has to go out than in Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. More thrust means less throttle to move and lower battery draw I had a transom mount 30# on my 14 foot it did the job but had to use full throttle to move in the wind had I had the money I would have gone a size up at the time Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
