  1. Might as well screw the regular tracks in. They aren't in the way of anything when not in use.
  2. I saw the video. I think the advantage is to get the depth of a mag dipsey with a 0 size.
  3. I just happened to look through CL and saw this. Looks like a decent deal! I have no affiliation with the owner. http://syracuse.craigslist.org/bod/4348096878.html
  4. I have! It's good stuff. But if i buy a 100 yd spool of seaguar it's about the same price per 25 yd.s
  5. The wire isn't that much more than braid. And it's a lot more versatile and effective! You can put wire on your 45's...just put a bunch of 40 lbs big game line as backing (to take up space) then your 1,000 ft of wire. You want your reel full or the linecounter won;t be accurate. You'd be better off running a 200 or 300 copper to achieve greater depth than a 10 color lead. But on May 3rd all you'll need in sodus is flat lines and downriggers. Maybe some short cores. Most of the fishing is surface to 10 ft down in 5-30 FOW.
  6. I was referring to the leader between dipsey and flasher. It makes no sense to use floro. 30 or 40 lbs big game and no snubber.
  7. I bought some really inexpensive reels (shakespeare and cabela's) the first season. Then upgraded the next year (to Daiwa 47LC and Satist's)...i retired the cheap stuff for spring browns. So, it cost me more in the long run! Now, i'd probably buy the new Daiwa 57LC or Seagate (to get the high gear ratio for just over $100). And load it up with a bunch of 40 lbs big game for backing...then 1,000 ft of wire.
  8. I bought a Tekota LC for a 500 copper reel. It was a waste of money...it doesn't measure copper line accurately.
  9. Their site hasn't worked in years. I ordered a bunch of spoons (2 years ago) and had to file for a refund through paypal. Called them 10X (over 2 months) and even talked to the wife and never got a call back. Apparently, you have to purchase their products through tackle shops or trade shows.

  12. I own a 17 foot Lowe FS175 with the same Merc. I have a Troll-a-matic trolling plate on the 90. It trolls great down to 1.7! It is a little loud and not super smooth. But i don't fish the fingers for lakers. And i think the little variances in the trolling speed actually helps with the kings. I thought about doing a kicker. I did some research and the manufacturer didn't recommend it. I would contact a Tracker dealer. If you do decide to add one...i'm sure a 5-8 hp would push that boat fine. And would shave a few lbs.
  13. These pics def get the blood pumping!! (except that one of Ray K)
