Sons in from Old Forge and we got out from 7-10. 8 Kings and a bow 35 to 45 down on riggers and 50 ish on divers. Ran all spoons. Thank you Tenatureboy and Silver Fox for the heads up on where to find them. Plus or minus 100 foot of water was our best.

It was actually the “vegetable of the day” on the radio lol.

And I thought listening to the VHF in the late 80’s early 90’s was annoying……

All that being said, and some very good points, I still love fishing the Derbies. I look forward to them every year. I look at them like a buffet, I stay away from the broccoli!

Ryan boys have been out as well. Tommy got his girlfriend one yesterday and got one himself today. Billy brought a new hunter out this morning and got him a gobbler as well.

It’s too bad they don’t take to the lake well. Although we catch a dozen or so every year they are seldom mature. Having one come flying out of the water 30 feet from the boat is wild.

Another incredible morning. Solo trip (plus the dog) line in at 7:30 and out at 10:30. Over a dozen browns with a few over 10. Worked mostly 30-35 feet of water and had surface temp up to 51 degrees. Water color was perfect. Highlight of the morning was a stud of an Atlantic crushing a Two Face Glow parked at 25 feet down. Pretty sure it’s my new PB. Launched out of the water a half dozen times and swam away strongly after a quick pic.

Dickey and I had lines in at 8:30 and pulled at 11:30. Water was 47.5 in 20 to 25 feet of water with good color. Riggers at 10 and 15 and Chinook Divers out 20 and 30. Boards were out 100 but never took a hit. Ended up with 10 Browns and a King. Beautiful morning.

Twice in the past cats decided my boat was theirs and duly marked their territory. Twice the problem was resolved without recidivism. Surprisingly one was collared and neutered. Hopefully we can cast and blast soon.

Quick trip with Persistence this morning. Lines in at 7am and out at 10:30. Fished 15-20 feet of water. Lots of floating crap made it hard to keep lures and riggers clean but it was manageable. Riggers back 30 and down 8 and 12. One with a standard size Wonder Bread the other standard size Two Face Glow. Four board rods pulling orange and chartreuse jointed Rapalas. Ended up with 8 Browns, the biggest one just over 10lbs. Temps ranged from 45 to 47 and color was good.
