  1. You could get a few of those back seat sun screens with suction cups that are used in vehicles. I’ve seen those used in boat windows. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. Oh no, look out, I think in the rules sheet it said somewhere no spin n glows can be used...... lol, honestly it would be cool Brian. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Well said Les, change is good as well and who knows, the new area at Stivers for the ceremony might be 10 times more conducive in bringing the derby group together as a whole thus starting a richer culture for future derbies. Always thought of seeing the ceremony as a celebration vs get your award and that’s it. As far as fishing, yep it gets frustrating no doubt, change in tactics will be in order for many. Like you said, someone will catch the largest fish and take home a chunk of change. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  4. Check Roy’s marina. West side 3 miles south of Geneva. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  6. Ditto on marking the sides when putting the floor down. I replaced mine from a local machine shop as I didn’t want the holes from the back two seats there as I never used them. I don’t recall the gauge but it seemed as thick as the transom skin. .100 ? I repoured the foam making sure it was even with the brace. Used a spray epoxy for the nautilex floor cover for each sheet. Drilled and pop riveted it with a wide flange rivet across each support evenly spaced. Your doing great with this project. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. My mercury 8hp charges two batteries while I troll, 4 electric cannons, depth finder, vhf, radio (motleycrew),lights, fish hawk, and auto pilot. I get home, plug the onboard charger in, fully charged in minutes. Have had the same batteries now 5yrs. For whatever it’s worth. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  11. If it were for bouncing around to find perch, bass, jigging etc that would be plenty I would think. If your using it for trolling, I’d stay with gas, 4 stroke maybe 8 or a 9.9hp. Electric for trolling I think would I be rough on it both the unit and batteries. Just an opinion though Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

  13. I’d probably paint it. It’s really about your comfort level, time you have etc. There’s a lot of ideas out there that are good as well. If you do paint, as suggested, the zinc chromate paint is a must for primer, it’s green. I had a project for a transom that I did, I did the priming sanding work, the auto body shop did the final paint. Came out great. Holding up with no issues, good luck with whatever you do. No matter what you decide, blood and guts will be on it anyways. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. Yep. Businesses that can’t or won’t keep up with either market demands, operational efficiencies that keep you competitive from a cost standpoint or are unable to innovate to keep sales pumping are always at risk. All the way from the small shop on the corner to the 100 plants across the country giants. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Great story and way to go on giving back to the environment and taking the time teaching the kids something they’ll never forget. A+ for the teacher! Thanks for sharing. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

  17. I hope we’re not missing the learning side of this, I for one am looking to purchase an auto inflate strap pfd after seeing this video. Too much risk and not much time to react, especially if some other type of accident occurred that is out of our control. Regarding the navigational laws set forth for both inland and international waterways ( and I’m not an expert) this guy in the underway vessel broke several of the rules listed in it. The boat he collided with was engaged in fishing and not under power. The thought that he was somewhat liable for the collision because he didn’t react? Giveaway, right of way, tomato taamato, lesson learned thankfully nobody was killed, let’s use it as a teaching tool not a definition issue. Just an opinion. Nothing more. 19. Man that’s a sweet rig, could I test ride that? Say from April to Aug? Lol. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  20. I’ve always wondered why the manufacturers on the auto pilots for recreation (fishing) don’t put a limit on speed when its engaged. Not knowing if that it was a factor in this incident in Oregon but I I’ve heard about close calls with fools running on autopilots while rigging rods and such. There’s just no reaction time. Scary. Have to treat it like your driving your motorcycle when out on the water. Head on a swivel and trust no one. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  21. Nice video, very well done. Enjoyed that. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  22. For what it’s worth Anchor Express will beat anyone’s advertised price on line. At least they did when I purchased the Ray Marine EV 100. I like Hodges too. PS I have no skin in the game for them lol. Good luck on whatever you get. It’s definitely been a worthy tool in the arsenal bag. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
