  1. Agree on the debate can go on and on. For me though, my pin is on point, then I blat to get him to stop, then boom. If I can’t get him to stop, no loss, if I think he’s going to stop at scent or is hesitant as he walks I wait for the moment. To try and take that shot at him while he’s on the move is more than likely for me, a wounded deer. I’ll pass. Again that’s for me. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. Slick Tricks Brian. Haven’t failed me yet. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. Downy sheets in compartments. Don’t leave upholstery type stuff in it. And don’t leave a roll of paper towels in it lol. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. All great points indeed. I do wish they would remove the sellable piece as it does change ones behavior vs just filling the freezer from a successful trip out. Some still believe that over fishing can’t impact the fisheries. Some even think that it’s impossible to catch 100’s of these fish when they go out. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. Anyone remember that hunting formula link that was mentioned last year? You took the wind, etc ? Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  6. Not change your mind and if a new motor is in the budget by all means it’s a nice way to ensure it will run when I need it to. However for just a check, when you say compression is good, what’s that mean? >120 in each cylinder with less than 5% deviation between any of the cylinders? Also someone suggested carb rebuild. Not sure if the ECM or DFI is hosed but there are shops across the US that work on these based on what the faults are. Google the motor if you haven’t already. There is a evinrude shop on Seneca and up in Ontario that are good. Hope you make out. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. Had a family member stick a beauty last year but was in the most thickest cover you could imagine and didn’t have a good trail. Used a service dog and trainer, can’t remember the name but was just incredible. Short story was the dog found it 75 yds from where it was hit. Deer did a complete 180 degree turn and had everyone second guessing where the dog was taking them. Moral of the story, be open minded and never assume where you think the deer went, the dog owner let the dog work his magic and wala found it. It was a liver hit and thankfully it wasn’t pushed after the shot knowing it wasn’t in the boiler room. My hats off to you and the other dog owners that provide this service. 8. Been there done it with respect to dropping something out of the stand. Got a great gift one year. A hook with a wire type rubber arms that wrap around anything. Use it religiously now for bow and gun. I don’t use my in stand holder anymore. Don’t trust them. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  9. Brian I was talking Sk8man and he was saying we should get some of those perch pirates from Seneca to give those boys a whooping on the next tourney! Yep I think he said that lol Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  12. Man, it’s time to get the popcorn. What a long winter it’s going to be. Once the last salmon is caught on the lake, it’s time to unleash the “whoas me “ the fisheries is doomed. Or am I saying uncle too soon? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  20. We should give praise to the fisheries, volunteer groups for pen project etc. A lot of concerns last year with lake trout and sticking levels and such. Glad they made it what it was this year! Sure was a bunch of work done to create it for us. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  21. That was port to starboard Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  22. So when you get a package with the ram, helm and hoses, the helm will either be a 1.4, 1.7, 2.1, or 2.4. The smaller the number will require more turns over between port and stern. The 1.7 is typically 5 turns to go from each. In my aluminum it was very difficult because I kept having to oversteer to get it go where I wanted easily like at a dock or get to the trailer to load it. With that said the higher the number the less it will take to turn the wheel but harder to turn as your moving more fluid through the helm if you know what I mean. I went with a 2.4 which is extreme but wanted the ease. 2.1 will probably get you in the ball park. My opinion the 1.7 is not enough but that’s just me. Hope it helps. 23. Make sure you get the correct size helm. If you get it to small of a ratio you will be going crazy getting to the dock. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  24. I’m going to agree. Even if a person wanted to go out in that type of dangerous condition and put the risk to only themselves and not endangering anyone else, you still have people that have to put themselves in danger for having to go out and rescue them. We have to remember that. They have families and loved ones as well. As a side note, I also respect all of the LOU members as this is an elite group, we just have to realize people show emotions in different ways. Social media doesn’t help with showing that. Nobody wanted to see this and I’m sure all are sadden like me, as we all have a skin in this game, that a fellow fisherman lost his life and another had to be a part of it. As others mentioned, if we can pull out a learning lesson from this as they go through the findings, we can help prevent future catastrophes. Whether behavioral or mechanical. My sincere condolences to the families affected by this. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. You might want to confirm that, I think you need the HDS models to control the autopilot Lowrance makes. I think the elite can only read data via NEMA 2000 wiring. Maybe someone can confirm if they have been able to figure it out. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
