  1. I hope to have the same experience with my daughter one day, great job!
  2. Slips are open but ice on the remainder of the bay. Channel is slushed up pretty good. Came to the realization that I am not fishing anytime soon. Tomy
  3. My memory no matter what she does going forward was when I took her out for her first season (late season) and we dropped a goose about a 100 yards out, she swam all the way out and brought it right to my feet. She was nine months old. The bird was too heavy for her to lift her head once she got to shore, it was great.
  4. Sorry for your loss, I have a black lab that I trained since she was a pup and duck hunt with, she will be 5. I am not looking forward to that day that every pet owner dreads. You just have to make the best with the time you are given and it clearly looks like you did. Tomy
  5. Just bought one in Mag size at Mitchell's last Saturday. It was his last one out but he told me that he has boxes of NK's in his basement. Might be worth a call to him.
  6. All good points Chris, I enjoyed the book regardless. I like everyone else can't wait to get out on the water. I tell you what though, my brother and I took a trip out to Narby's on Saturday morning since we had never been and the whole drive along the lake all we could see was all the damn ice!
  7. I feel like after hearing all of you that I shouldn't have bought the book as there is not new tips or techniques
  8. Thanks Matt, I hear you, my goal this year is to be more consistent in our catches. Looking back I remember mornings where either the riggers or wires suddenly shut off and I wish I would have mixed it up more to get them moving again.
  9. We only have the ability to run two riggers so, our typical program is spoons on riggers and flasher/flies on the wire dipsies. After reading I was thinking maybe trying the full flasher/fly program at first light but to me, I know we have moved rods with spoons at that time too. Thanks Tomy
  10. I read the book myself, what about the early morning method of running all flashers in a concentrated group? Does this method work?
  11. I have a new NK with a white w/ sparkle back in a UV gator color so I guess I will have to pick the right conditions to fish it
  12. I wrote that response incorrectly, that's what I meant, thanks. I have some but have been unsure about when to use them. Thanks again
  13. So white backs that are not glow are not really a good option without murky water conditions?
  14. Question, are there conditions where spoons with the backs painted white in lieu of silver work best? Thanks Tomy
