  1. Weekend was a tough being too find fish, however your son's smile shows us why we love the sport. Congrats Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Last weekend was tough but we did best deeeeeeep. However little more stable winds all this week so I'm hoping to save on fuel. If no one reports this week I'll be starting in 250 fow and troll towards Canada till a rod fires or screen lights up. All our kings this weekend came in 44-45 degree water (115-85 down spoons on riggers). Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. When you see a laker over 20, it's head and jaw structure are very obvious (thick and broad) Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Had a chance to get back out tonight. We ran out to the same numbers as last night and had the same results. We did four kings 10-15 lbs. All spoons, all riggers. Riggers were 105-115 down (44-46 degree water). Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Fish in wearing red hat 22 lbs, my sons 19 lbs, last pic 25 lbs Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. 17-20.......... Looks can be deceiving Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Started the morning in 150 because the boat hasn't been running stellar to say the least. Fired up the kicker and headed north we fished three hrs without a hit (out to 400). Decided to head in to 120 for last hr and the main motor wouldn't start, so 2 hrs later the kicker got us in 0/0. Went home grabbed the little boat and we knew where not to fish. Headed north to 550fow and kept trolling to Canada. We had a slow but steady screen and the fishing matched it. Spot a fish get a bite. King's were 8/10/17lbs and steelhead was 9 lbs. All spoons all riggers. Headed back out in hr or so to same waypoints unless we hear differently from morning reports today. Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. My favorite style boat, good luck with her Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. What a tank Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Has anyone hooked one up to a new mercury 9.9 pro kicker. The handle where you would mount the bracket for the ball stud is full of wires. The manual said mercury has a bracket yet I can't find one. Any advice or pics to hooking the steering bar from mercury to the T5 would be appreciated. 11. That's the better answer Patriot.. Fish temp if going blind however if your seeing them on the screen that's the temp they like at that day and at that moment Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Down speed is more important than the lure choice in my opinion. They like it slooooow. I try to keep boat about 1.5 which ide not always easy to do. Start with mostly white spoons and flasher fly Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. I always park my probe at 50. Then I fish lures as warm as 54 and cold as 42 . Once rods start to fire we dial it in a little tighter however there is always a meat rig or flasher fly swimming that 42 mark all day. Steelhead when we run offshore is always best for me when we're getting mid to high fifties in the upper 50 feet of water. Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. Wondered mag spoon and white flasher fly combos always work also. Just go slow, their fat and lazy. We've put allot over twenty in the boat this yr out of Sandy Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. 200 fow is not that far out. Couple minuets wide open throttle and your there. Shore feels pretty close also. Not until 400's do you feel like your heading off shore. I spend allot of time out there in a 14' aluminum and watching the weather close never feel as if it's "dangerous". Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Great report..... I've done two years for this event. Last year I blew my motor at 6am and this year we blew a lower end on Big fish Friday. We fished the 14 ' aluminum and it was pretty sporty to say the least. This is definitely a great event and every year we learn a little more. Been great talking to you and Sean this year and appreciate all the advice. We fought hard for a 53lb box and fishing 4 rods all day. If you see me in a kayak next yr for the shoot out you'll no I'm cursed for this event. Good luck with the rest of the season. Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Never heard a bad thing about pugsley, and I go to Boat Doctor in Kendall area Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. I've been debating same thing. I was quoted 2500-3000 to have octopus set up installed (parts and labor). Cost to switch to hydraulic was twice by the time I got done. I fish allot but could not justify that. I just bought a 9.9 pro kicker and putting a panther t4 with it. Now for $3500 I'll save ton of wear and tear on the main motor, save $30-$50 a trip out with fuel economy, and have a back up in case of emergency (which I already could have used). Now I can't put in a waypoint and go, but I can take my son fishing and with a remote keep her straight. I should get motor and panther unit end of next week, hopefully it's a useful as I hope. 19. I'm mounting a 9.9 pro kicker to mine next week. This was on my boat when I bought and is extremely strong. They took 1/4" aluminum plate and sandwiches the swim platform. Then there are braces welded from the plate back to the boat underneath. I'm going to add a safety cable so heaven forbid something gave way I won't lose her to the bottom of the lake Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Great minds think a like lol Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. And it whoops the black flies. Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. Try this if your bored. I read on a post somewhere that Velcro does a decent job pulling off the fleas. I have a paint stick (the five gallon size) and took the largest Velcro home depot offered (sticky back). When I bring the wire in I slap it on the water and smack the butt of the rod. That will usually get half, then I'll take this and run it down the line. Doesn't a decent job " breaking" them up . I've done it on the rigger rods in desperation buy usually get nervous with anything running on the mono. Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. Nice job on Friday Cowboy. Fished yesterday night out of Sandy at it was brutal. Been getting spoiled with good fishing last couple weeks and yesterday was slooooow. Yesterday afternoon the wind shifted in a positive way and should hold all week. Should make for a good Sandy Creek Shootout for all the guys fishing that tournament. So if your not in the shoot out or big fish Friday, sign up. Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. This is when you get out the 600 copper....... My buddy was also out and he fought to get three fish in the boat. Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. Meat rigs out performed all weekend. One more piece of the arsenal you need in the water. Mine are usually running cold water. Sent from my XT1254 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
