  1. Nice job, that fish sure looks bigger than 16, regardless great fishin.
  2. Most steel you get on the lake will have a very faint if any stripe at all. Just look for the flat end tale, shorter snout and white gums.
  3. The farther west you go, the better the fishing is. west of niagara river on the Canadian side it was on fire this weekend. Good size fish too.
  4. I had that same clutter on my screen at the same fow.Wasn't marking it as hooks tho, was wondering if there's a big temp break there. I don't have down temp. we caught fish much higher than 150 but at daybreak
  5. Stinger NBK is a must have. Been great this year for us. Black and purple Rac spoon also.
  6. On the south shore on the west end of the lake this week the Bait has been 20ft thick for the first 3-400yrds out onto the lake. The kings are big and not starving. Very fat and healthy. I snagged 11 alewives in 4 hours of fishing .
  7. Crazy **** fly is a good match for watermelon too.
  8. How does the split shot deal work when it's 60ft from the spoon? Take it off every time you crank your line in?
  9. Ya wonderbread here in the west end doesn't seems to perform very well. I've caught very few on that colour. Any moonshine with green or an old north port nailer in black and purple works for me.
  10. Did you forget to take the j-11 outta his yap before you three em in the box?? Nice fish.
  11. This may sound a little off but I don't understand why they don't gather their data from fisherman too. Do a survey at the middle or end of May from guys that fish frequently. If the alewife population is healthy, you will know it when fishing the shoreline in April/may. I can see how their data could be off misleading considering weather patterns/forage/water temps etc.
  12. Only gets better boys. Some people just don't understand.
  13. Ya if their only out there say 40yrds or so the wind isn't going to affect your shot that much, I'd say you were ahead of em, I never hunt in that bad of wind tho so I could have it backwards..
  14. Looks like someone behind him launching an arrow at em
  15. Those dogs are in their freaking glory right now, nice shootin guys!
  16. They definatly are moving in groups now that its cooling down, you Probly wacked the female or a younger male and the alpha is standing his ground. Keep at em nice job.
  17. That could double as a goby colour too. Good stuff!
  18. They don't. They make boat anchors silly!
  19. I would say he would go better than 160.., only thing that's hurting him would be his inside spread...regardless that's a friggin hell of a deer! I do feel your pain tho last week the big guy that I've been after got hit by a transport crossing back into my block of bush. Very disheartening seeing the deer dead when you've been working so hard to get your hands on em.
  20. The wind was blowing ENE this am...now it's blowing due west....I don't blame the deer for not moving don't know if it's safe to move anywhere....ugh
  21. Yes I have learned with the warmer temps it's better to sleep in, but then again the evenings havnt been much better, I can only imagine how slow it is over there, we just had a one week gun hunt in S Ont and the deer have gone into lockdown with being pushed around and the temps
