  1. I started using the Panther electric tilt a few years ago when it was on the boat we bought, but it wasn't working. But after replacing the arm that raises and lowers the tilt. I don't have a clue as to whether it will fit on your boat. Mine also has a 3" spacer that gives you more room to tilt the motor. I went as far as buying spares and decided to sell them, and I still have 1 for sale for $450.00 plus shipping. I can ship with USPS priority mail up to 70#, which doesn't cost that much. They don't charge by weight but by the size of the package. Now I don't have a spacer, so you would need to buy one somewhere else. These run off an electric motor, and I have the wiring harness and the hard-wired control box with an up button and a down button. There are only a few small wires going from the motor to the inside of your boat. If you're interested, send me a message to let me know either way. I'm not pushing you, but letting you know I have this one.
  2. they are a little expensive. when i bought mine they came with the large and small rings and the standard weight but now i believe they don't come with rings or weights and cost more. the ring set and weights can be bought separately. once you use them you won't regret spending the money. if you're not sure about paying for them you can always get 2 for one side of your boat and run your dipsies on the other side. i have several i bought used of fishing forums for spares, so keep an eye out for used one. I've been using most of the ones i started with i don't believe they ever wear out. If you try them PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT THEM.
  3. you need to switch to the lite bite slide divers. i switched A few years ago from the deeper divers after starting with the dipsies and haven't even had i thought about giving up the lite bite divers. i don't use the slide but tie a 7' fluro leader and lace it through the lite bite arm and set the tension as light as it will go. then i set the rod tension as tight as needed to stop false release's. this lets the fish dictate the release. most small fish trip the diver when they hit. even yellow perch and small white perch trip it most of the time. if you are having trouble with the fish not tripping the diver you can try setting the tension lighter but this has a fine line between false releases or not tripping. but the LITE BITE slide diver does this for you. you can start with 2 of them and run them just like you run a dipsy but these have a separate release for how hard its set on the lite bite arm to release so easy by even most small fish. but you want to start with the small ring and standard weight which i believe is 2 OZ then it's very close to a dipsy. if you want to ask any questions about the lite bite diver feel free to message me.
  4. I believe the price is in his listing. But at 72K, it's way out of my budget.
  5. Glad you found the problem! Now for the fix, good luck, and let us know if and when and how you fixed it. Sometimes, a sheen on the water is as simple as unburnt oil in the exhaust of 2-stroke motors.
  6. you should do a search for a '96 Mercury 115 HP switch box, and for a control box, you might find just what you're looking for at a good price.
  7. You get a huge KUDO for taking a young man fishing and hopefully getting him addicted to the outdoors and away from drugs.
  8. At least 14 OZ if you add a 4 OZ sinker, LOL. Just making fun! That is a beautiful fish.
  9. Yeah, I always thought they were the most beautiful salmonoid fish in the great lakes. I am 74 years old and don't see me getting up there in the near future. all my old fishing buddies have passed away and my son who goes with me to Erie once a year most years just wouldn't be interested in fishing for salmon. even though he cut his teeth fishing for them on Lake Michigan.
  10. please stop your killing me, we paid 8.900.00 for our Sylvan and I like your boat so much better. I can't believe someone hasn't bit your offer. your equipment is worth half of what you're asking.
  11. are the Atlantic a common catch? I fished Lake Michigan for a few years from the mid 70s until the mid 80s and always hoped I would catch one, but I never did. but they were dwindling down them.
  12. that could be your problem. the transducer is much too high and should be lowered just a little below the bottom of the boat. i have mine where the bottom of my transducer is below the bottom of my boat with the top part of my ducer above the bottom and tilted slightly up in the front, so I get a smoother water contact on the bottom of my ducer. try this on your ducer and I'm almost positive it will cure your problem.
  13. did I miss something or did you list a price? I have an 89 115 HP Johnson and if it fits I'm interested in your prop if the price isn't to awful high.
  14. that's what I call new old stock, LOL. You have it listed as a 99 but the back of the cover says 2006. so, what's up with that. either way for your asking price will rent one for the whole day on some lakes, LOL. I already have a 2000 remote merc 4 stroke electric start long shaft and a like new 2002 with very low hour 4 stroke electric or pull start long shaft that I don't use or I would be very interested in yours. for a Honda like yours I believe it will sell soon.
  15. if someone wants to get started rigger fishing for cheap, they will probably never find another deal like this. the listing says 50.00 the ad says 2 riggers so I am assuming that's 2 riggers for 50.00 even though if it's each it still will be a good entry point price even though it doesn't say for each.
  16. sounds like a fair price for 2 of any working electric riggers. and those have a good reputation. at that price if I thought I would ever need them I might bite. but a have an almost new set of Big Jon's off my old boat plus 2 good working older Cannons that came on my oldest sone boat when we bought it. then someone had a Cannon listed for 200.00 with everything needed for it with AutoStop when the ball breaks water. here's wishing you the very best on selling them so someone else will get some use out of them. if someone is just starting out or someone using manual's these will be hard to beat for 400.00 for both.
  17. I don't even use them on my Cannon tracks any more except the back one stays on all the time.
  18. At times if the motor is idled or made short runs, you'll get residue in your exhaust ports that will leave a small gas film on the water. this could or could not be your case but something I thought you should know about. Try taking her for a long run then stop shup it down and tilt your motor up for a few min minutes and trim it down and start it back up and see if you're still getting a film. Just something you can check.
  19. I just hook them to my downrigger and lower them to the floor in the back corners and keep the cable tight from the rigger so they can't move around. I was using 13# pancake weights then we had to use 8# Dredge weights and liked them better than the 13# pancake weights. I ended up ordering a couple of 10# Dredge weight but haven't used them yet. but we only use 2 riggers, one off each corner.
  20. how do I get some of these for walleye fishing Lake Erie? # 1 and #2 in purple not blue 2 each #8 #11 and #12 2 each i would like to see how they work on Erie's central basin out of Geneva Ohio. who knows a blind, drunk, and thrill-seeking sheepshead might run into one of them on a dark cloudy night? LOL.
  21. the short blocks I have bought in the past came with new rods and pistons, rings, and bearings, but didn't have any of the items that go on the block like heads, pans, fuel pump, and so on. but before i used the old heads I would have a valve job done on them. but remember this has been my experience with short blocks.
  22. I would have never forgave myself if I had taken money for them!
  23. I hated them so bad I was too ashamed to sell them, so i just gave them away.
  24. you're talking about the rod holders, right? I gave mine away to a needy fisherman just getting started. i hated the rod holders from the first time I used them and switched to Cabela's quick draw holders. they worked great for most types of fishing, but for trolling with divers they had a bad twist that worried me even though they never failed me, but I went to the Cannon tracks and ratcheting holders and never looked back. and they have been a blessing for running 3 divers per side for walleye, but i have no known to me if they hold up for salmon fishing. but the Tite Loc tracks seem to be good solid heave duty tracks.
  25. 5/16 Of an inch should turn the pump without a problem. but why take any chances with losing oil to the primary parts of your motor. the only way I'd use it would be if i couldn't get the right one. you may have to pay more for an OEM part but remember you get what you pay for in most cases.
