Fished Lo for thirty five yrs mostly out of Oak Orchard and Fair Haven Have 210 Thompson well equipped to fish Erie. First attempt at fishing for Waleyes Doing some research and coming up with Walnut Creek Marina on Pa side as a launch site See Barcelona is not too far either don't know how far by miles. Planning on staying a week since it is a long trip from NE Pa Pretty much know methods to fish trying to zero in on places to stay rent close to launches. Would imagine fishing out of Walnut Creek same as Barcelona. Appreciate anyone that is willing to offer any info. Thanks Cheeseyrider

If you are coming this month bear in mind the wind becomes more of a factor as we move through September.  Lot of days it is blowing or blow off vs. calm days.   North East Marina ramp is still open in North East PA.   Barcelona, Dunkirk and Sunset Day/Irving in New York are all good choices.

Walnut Creek Marina is west of Erie, Pa and Northeast Ramp is east of Erie with Barcelona just over the state line in NY.  Fishing info on Northeast and Barcelona would be similar.  FYI that on this site most of the guys fishing NY waters of Lake Erie.  Fishing has been excellent this season in both Pa and NY.  Last week it was tough to get out and looks like another shot of fall type weather later this week that might make it tough again.  Fish are here and will be for a while.

Thanks for the reply. Wasn't aware of the North East Ramp. Is there a fish cleaning station there ? We have both Pa and NY licenses, so once we travel that far a couple more miles  won't make that big of a difference. More important is fish cleaning station and place to stay close to boat ramp. Thanks guys. Might put on info LEU forum and see what what help I might get.

If going out of Walnut Creek the green roof inn is hard to beat. They have rooms with kitchenette and a fish cleaning station only 10 mins to the launch . Or the Quality inn off 90 in Sterrettania Pa is decent. Stop at Poor Richard’s bait shop if you get a chance for a report .

A launch ramp with cleaning station and a place to stay nearby would put Dunkirk on the list.  Transient slips available in the marina right behind the Clarion Hotel.  Everything within walking distance.  Most of the local stations sell non-ethanol fuel as well.  Other lodging choices by I-90 interchange. Short run from harbor to deeper water.  Popular choice with out of state/long distance visitors.

If you don’t have the Windfinder app you’ll want it. The lake has days you won’t want to fish it. If you have cabin fever you can fish Ohio starting in march since the season is all year for walleyes in that state. We fish out of the Sandusky area west of Kelly’s island . We troll with deep bandits off boards . March and April are great months to hammer them. There are lots of hotels and campgrounds you can stay at. It’s a very friendly area for fisherman.
Come Summer I start fishing Buffalo and as the water warms the fish go deeper and switch to the Catt. It’s a Great Lake for walleyes.Good Luck !
