The mouth of the Catt has been open for two weeks. Boats will be challenged to launch at Hanover town launch as a large gravel bar has formed between the launch and island. They will have to dredge for sure. The DEC launch is usable

A true prespawn gathering with the lot split 50/50 males to females. My guess is the group off Huron will be closer to the bass islands by this weekend.

I have a bunch of the old style non jointed ones…they work well.  They don’t dive and don’t float.  I mostly fish them behind bouncers and divers.

Looks like heavy equipment starting to show up at the Hanover Launch on the Catt. Dredging should be starting soon. Hopefully they fix the launch pads also.

The docks are in at Sturgeon Pte. The dredging should be finished as well.

The Catt launch is open. Guys out perch fishing over the weekend

The ice is completely gone. Most of the boom is still out there

Note, the road over the tracks to the Catt will be closed May 18th-21st

Are they actually going to try and fix those tracks?  It’s always a pia crossing them.

also, I doubt the slabs at Hanover will be fixed. I’m sure the town won’t spend the money. I hope I’m wrong.

The launch work included packing mud/gravel in the concrete pad seams. Not sure the travel over the railroad tracks will be any less bumpy. At some point someone will lose their boat off their hitch going over the tracks. There is an emergency alternative route that comes over from neighboring Hanover Bay but I have never taken it as alternative
