Pondering to sneak out tonight after sons football, lake looked good, storms passed, ran up for a couple quick hrs. Started in 200, 45 degrees 90 ft down. 4/4 . Heavy current as you could imagine with temps. Stayed within 250ft. Meat, flys. IMG_0528.JPG

Nice work Mike! I'm jealous... wanted to go all day but the storms kept rolling through here...you have a great situation being close enough to get out relatively quickly and get after them when you get the chance. Good going bud.

Sunday was slower for us compared to friday. We did boat three largest 22 lbs.Seemed the best bite was around 240.Temp gauge was acting up .#300 copper and prochip on dipseys took the kings, seemed the brighter the colors worked best.

One good run ending in bringing in a 24 in laprey

It rained early but the rest of our trip was sun and light winds, few flies and fleas to contend with,

Where are the fisherman ???,first weekend and a handful of boats.

I think the weather (and report) scared off a lot of folks that trailer there from a distance John.

    • Nice day (Hughes)

I talked Admiral Byrd into giving it a shot this morning and  it turned out to be a beautiful and productive day. We motored out to the 5 hundreds to start as neither of us are into "zombie fishing" and marked a bunch of fish, and continued out to 725 ft. somewhere along the line my 300 copper took a shot and sunk the board after a nice fight we had  34 inch 14 lb male steelhead in the boat...he was spent and bleeding badly so we boxed him. As we headed in from the 700's we got into another stee

First of all comes the confession: I am a "Chinookaholic" and I  have had my addiction since 1975  Admiral Byrd and I sensed the narrow weather window yesterday and figured it was "now or never" and we hadn't fished together for kings this year yet so off we went on the water at 6AM in Bob's boat. We are a lot like the "odd couple" when fishing with me preferring the mid depth water and he the real deep water. We started in about 170 and worked our way north to the 307 ft range and picked up som

    • Finally got out - Hughes

This year has been tough for me - every weekend either threatening rain, too windy or some other commitment. I promised myself I was getting out a lot. So here it is July 27th and I've been out 4X so far this year including Seneca & Canandaigua derbies. Family is visiting this weekend but kings are silver and hungry and, damn it, I'm going. Got the boat out of the barn Thursday night & topped off the batteries and checked air in the tires. Got it out Saturday morning and 1 trailer tire f
