Started in 116 feet heading east. Hoped to get my youngest at least a laker...check. anyway, slid out to 160 and the carbon 14 on 300 copper got two steelhead, raspberry carbon down 70 got a 8 pound king, 10 color with a purple who knows what it was named got a 12 pounder. Got a massive dispey hit only to watch a pretty decent king come 4 feet out of the water....with my meat rig in its face. If anyone can tell me the name id appreciate it, it's been doing really well for me so far.

Late but happy start on Lake Memphremagog
Andre wallyandre replied to Speedy's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Salmon, lakers, brown trout fishing are excellent on the Memphre even with the high pressure and many charters. I know personnel 3 charters on the lake and they never report any alewives in the lake, there is a abundant smelt population and a excellent water quality. The Quebecers thanks Vermont Fish and Wildlife for maintaining such a quality fishery. -
I have upgraded my planer board reels with coldwaters so all the reels on the boat are consistent. I have two of these reels for sale. They were used one season for maybe 5 trips and I have never had a problem with either of them. I upgraded both reels with power handles and the original handles are in the box. I prefer to sell them as a pair. Features Lightweight corrosion resistant frame and sideplates Corrosion resistant graphite spools Stainless steel reinforcing sideplate rings Mechanical line counter function measures in feet Multi-disc Carbonite drag system 2 stainless steel ball bearings Durable machine cut brass gearing Self lubricating gear system Stainless steel levelwind line guide system

Late but happy start on Lake Memphremagog
rswanson330 replied to Speedy's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Well, That ain't good. They have succeeded in screwing up every smelt holding water body I'm aware of that they have been "magically" introduced to. Down here in the flatlands (CT) we used to have a couple great kokanee lakes that are no longer so too great due to the introduction of alewifes (East Twin and West Hill). -
For you night trollers, a nice little tip for your planer board mods, I placed DOT reflection tape on mine and with just wearing a little headlight the boards light up the night like an airport runway. No glow in the dark night sticks. No battery operated accessory add-ons. Cheap and easy. (I placed a sticky note over my name and number to keep groupies away 🤪).

Another good evening contour trolling 15’-23’ fow off a hard point. We managed one shy of a two man limit in the 7pm-11pm window. Interesting how every time out the age structure differs. Tonight all age classes represented. Took another big also (7.5 lbs). Some on bandits, some on scatter raps, one on meat spoon down 12’ on rigger but most came off a Livingston stickbait unassisted -back 70-80’ on outside boards.

@PD Buoy well i figured out the problem. The detents on the bar (the brass nubs that actually grab the bar) are completely trashed. They were worn down to nothing. I guess I did get 5 years of trolling out of it. So the option is to buy a replacement bar (you can buy a detent kit but the bar has a lot of wear) or since I converted my main Alpha drive to hydraulic, figure out how to add hydraulic to the kicker. Would have to figure out how to switch the kicker hydraulics on/off though I think.

No...Actually the first one had two Alewives in his mouth and still took my lure. That's when I changed my second line to a Alewives looking lure and got the second one in minutes. I was told that the N.E. Kingdom lake were free of Alewives and lamprey eels. I doubled checked VT Game & Fish color chart hoping they were smelt or anything else. Nope. They are in the in-land locked lake.

bass spawn
carpcatcher replied to carpcatcher's topic in St. Lawrence River Fishing Reports - 1000 Islands Fishing
That would be great if they are spawned out and moved deeper before season opened up. After the last few seasons of a late spawn they need a break in my opinion. -

5.7 Mercruiser with an Alpha 1 drive. Hooked into a 9.9 Yamaha high thrust (with power tilt) that is on a fixed motor bracket. I've always had issues with being able to steer with just the kicker and have made adjustments over the years. I even went as far as disconnecting the throttle and shift cable from kicker since I control it with an iTroll anyways. This year I converted over my steering to full hydraulic on the main and went from a Raymarine Wheel Pilot to a Type 1 pump. It steers the main really well. However, I keep on getting hitting the limit when its trying to steer the kicker. It will work fine for awhile and then randomly hit the lock. So the main is hitting the limit lock and isnt pushing the kicker far enough over. I would assume this is happening because the bar is sliding instead of pushing it like it should. With the kicker being high thrust and it pushing a 26' boat, there is a fair amount of torque on the kicker. So should I just keep on cranking the bar down tighter so that it cant slip? Or should I just figure out how to add hydraulics to the kicker and call it a day?

for sale : usa 2 big Jon electric with auto stop and bases
nysrx01 posted a topic in Classifieds - Buy, Sell, Trade or Rent
They work well. Just need to install stop beads if you want to use the auto stop feature. I never used it. But it is functional. I just double checked before I removed them. Have batterie end plugs too. On one the switch cover tabs are cracked. It still works well. If you wanted you could buy a new switch over. It never bothered me so I didn’t buy one. They each have a rod holder attached. Looking to $250 plus shipping. Text 518-588-8164 for more info or pictures. -
