  3. It sure looks like Waneta Lake. I think because of all the divisiveness, political and cultural, which has filtered into all aspects of our, so called, internet society. I can't tell if they admitted to the mistake. This divisiveness seems to be eroding the cooperation between anglers of all types as well as conservation efforts. It has become all about bragging and nothing about conservation. tmag called them out and they cowardly took down the video. I am not a FB member but at least I was able to see that. Too bad it cant be used as an example of how not to handle or land a musky. The only thing that can be done is to call them out and humiliate them. At least they cannot erase it from the minds of those who already saw it. They call themselves a guide service but they do not even avoid showing poor musky handling. If they were a legitimate guide service, they would understand the importance of promoting proper release practices in order to be able to bring themselves and their clients to quality fish in the future, as well as to not give their clients bad habits. If they believe that is sustainable and if they think they are professional guides, they are mistaken. Even if that is one of their clients holding the fish vertically, they never should allow it to be done on their boat. And if they were not able to stop it from being done, they never should have posted the photo. It shows irresponsibility. It does not matter how many muskies are stocked in the lake. If too many people are lead to believe it doesn't matter how careful you are with the muskies in Waneta Lake because they are stocked, the fishery could be doomed. Those people should stick to salmon, walleye, bass or perch. Could part of the problem be that we need more face to face and more accountability? Could the energy drinks and the testosterone enhancing drugs be a big contributor. The definition of a man does not require excessive macho and testosterone without reason and/or compassion.

  8. They were confirmed a year ago maybe 2 through an angler photo as being present in the NY section of the susquehanna, but I was hoping it was an anomaly.. Its not, we caught one on a jig around Barton/Tioga a few days ago.. Not real big, maybe 3 pounds, but these things are bad news, they eat everything, and the last thing needed in that river is another species that is basically an eating machine that grows plenty big enough to eat gamefish such as bass and the already badly depleted walleye.. Ugly SOB- Kind of like a huge flattened out Bullhead with a bigger mouth, wider head, more "toadlike" appearance, and a very mottled brown and greenish black color... Just another in a long line of unwanted, unneeded ,destructive species that somehow just appeared where they don't belong...bob
  9. 60. With shipping to 14541? I would do, TKS
  10. So cool to be able to watch their progress in real time. Now if only the NOAA server for satellite imagery wouldn't go down so often...I've found that NASA Worldview accesses their imagery more reliably than their own website, for what it's worth.
  11. Pulling in to Oswego...

  18. Hey Guys, What do you think the best way to address the following is: https://www.facebook.com/100007084681241/videos/pcb.4599612750284836/1423839022912615 With the above, it appears the fish was beached instead of being held in a landing net. Unsure of release tools... It came across my FB feed. Whenever I see a video cutout at the end like this, I assume it wasn't a good outcome for the fish. Similarly, I see: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=122113535504776954 and the same on their website: https://www.flxhooksets.com/about?pgid=kgyy7r9x-20c57204-a3d0-45e6-8da9-3c030378b0eb While it's just one photo, why the vertical hold? I also believe they are doing the bulk of their work on an 800 acre lake (Waneta).
  19. I’m located in Rochester
  20. Nice ! Hopefully, you are enjoying your new rig.

  22. All ports have come on line with walleyes. Cleaning tables full. From Buffalo along the Canadian line all the way to Barcelona, fish have shown in big numbers. Not many reports due to Southtowns Derby.
  23. Where are you located?
  24. After many years of really enjoying ice fishing, I'm going to have to give it up. My body isn't going to let me do it anymore. So, I have just a whole bunch of ice fishing stuff that needs a new home. A 2 Man Clam Yukon pullover shanty in very good shape, numerous tip-ups, some not even out of the wrappers, underwater camera, a color Vexilar, an auger or two, some cool tip-downs, etc. Might still have a few OK jigging rods out there, have to check for those. Not real happy about this but you gotta' play the cards you're dealt right? I don't want to list the stuff on CraigsList or Facebook and have to dick around with a bunch of tire kickers and low ballers. It's hard enough just having to give it up. Please PM me if you're interested in any of this stuff.
