John was a fantastic guy.... Really went out of his way and gave me some solid advice. I ran into Francis a couple years ago. She hasn't changed a bit. We had a lot of laughs reminiscing about the times at Riverview. Great folks for sure!

Hi There, came across this thread in search of this same part. Had a mishap and it fell in the lake last year. Turns out it is obsolete now and not having any luck finding a replacement. If anyone still has one around it would be a Down rigger saver for me, thanks in advance!

I use the 16 lb torpedo rigger wieghts. Traxtech makes a nice cradle/holder for these wieghts . It slides right into there track. I've got 3 of them on my boat. They have been great for 10 years +.

I haven't been out since my first trip! Our weekend weather has sucked for my boat all spring. I'm too old to be cold and miserable.

Yes forest rangers are in the same union as encon officers

My son just got a job as a seasonal assistant NYS Forest Ranger for the summer. He is set to graduate from the SUNY ESF Ranger school with a degree in En Con next month. I know he is interested in becoming a full time NYS Forest Ranger, and from what I have read these positions are sworn officers and take a 6 month NYS academy training that combines law enforcement training with en con training. Are these positions also part of the PBA union, or is this something different? I thought I saw above where someone said they were, but I get the forest ranger position confused with the game warden...

I think law enforcement is all under the same PBA union. The DEC ECO’s could not use lethal force if they didn’t have the protection of a large police union representing them. They would be put in jail or sued out of existence without the blanket protection of the PBA.

I used round cradles and layed the torpedoes in sideways. Tail toward the back and they worked out fine but they were on a flat raised board across the top of the transom. I'll see if I can find a picture.
