  1. Yesterday
  2. My son Tommy and a couple friends are hunting Michigan this weekend. Had a great hunt this morning.
  3. I use that advantage II and it seems to work on the fleas. I get it from pet meds
  4. Hug the west side of the channel both in and out. Few spots are about two feet. Really not much different than the norm.
  5. Please remember all those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom Please thank and keep all the men and women who serve today safe and in our prayers God Bless America🇺🇸
  6. It will depend on how you hold the rod, the larger the reel size the higher above the rod the line counter is. For me the line counter on a size 40 is high enough above the rod that my arm just fits under it when I hold the rod. With a size 30 the line counter is hitting into my arm.
  7. Is the channel save to use with the lake level down? Are the larger boats at the marina able to get out, thanks
  8. Started setting up straight out at 6 a.m. in 100 fow heading NW. Had a buddy of mine with me who served and he brought his lucky hat from Kuwait. He watched me set up the two riggers then start sending the dipsy with the same white crush glow spin doctor and green glo fly from last week. Started setting up the second dipsey when the first one took a hit (out around 145' on a 3 setting). My friend was able to land a nice sized coho. Got all the lines in (added two lead cores) and started search mode and the rigger starts bumping; reeled in a dink on a Stingray glow black wiggler (released without removing from the water). Turned and went back through some marks and the rigger took a good shot ten minutes later on a Moonshine silver carbon 14 mag; my buddy and his bad knees made sure neither of us got there in time (it was a good laugh). About 30 minutes more of driving, I decided I wanted to wash down some of the boat (the black flies are starting). I turn to the back of the boat and ask by buddy where the in-line side planer is (it's under water straight behind the boat). He reeled in an Atlantic which hit a Stingray glow green with orange dots. Back to fishing. About 45 minutes later and lure changes later, I see the other rigger take a shot and my buddy grabbed the rod but it was gone. Ended 3 for 5, we had to pull lines by 11 so my buddy could make it to a parade by 1p.m. Flat water, thick fog, seaweed, scum, and cottonwood out to about 200 fow. Fly spray next time out.
  9. I've been admiring this boat for about a month now and I've been waiting for one of my rental properties to sell which it has now and I'm interested in buying your boat please give me a call Troy Scruggs 218-310-3356 I got cash and I'm ready to check it out I really love the boat I fished out of a saber Day Cruiser for years my friend has one and I want my own.
  10. Happy memorial day weekend!! Fished from 6am till 10:45am. We covered a ton of water today as we really didn't have great screens at any depth. Started out in 150 to 250fow and got one small king on a carbon 14 spoon. So we decided to pick up and head out to deeper water. We set back down in 400 fow and fished out to 450 fow. We found good temp at 50-60 feet down no matter where we fished. Got a decent 10lb king on a raspberry carbon 14 on a 10 color. Ended up 5 for 7. Mostly small fish from a spoon bite today. Only 2 bites on flasher flies today. Had a good time fishing with buddies. How did everyone else do?
  11. I began the season slowly. It took me 7 days to get a Tom but was able to get my sister in law a Jake when she came up. Last week I took a Jake knowing my son was coming this weekend. Today I was able to put him on a nice Tom. 10” beard with 1” spurs. Now I can sleep in and get serious about fishing.
  12. Anybody see any fleas yet?
  13. Thank you for posting report Matt, great detail very helpful for rec anglers trying to improve and find a starting point when we do get to The Great Lake O.
  14. Thanks now just need the fog to leave
  15. I can get you a number for a good therapist...
  16. Fisherman by nature are very honest people! If you ever sell fishing gear on forum sites you will never get hosed.
  17. We were fishing out on the Bar a few weeks ago and we snagged some gear out trolling (300 ft weighted steel and 500 ft mono backing with a Ninja inline board attached) The owners phone number and name was written on the board. I called him up and he had lost it some 5-6 hours earlier that day tangling with another boat. He was from Windsor Ontario and asked me if I liked hockey and who was my favorite team. Matt sends me a shipping label to send the inline board back after we returned home. Today a package arrived with a thank you gift. The stick was used by 2016 Hobie Baker winner Jimmy Vesey for Harvard and now #26 for the NY Rangers. The stick came from a regular season game in Vancouver. His company creates unique stuff from NHL hockey players sticks. Grilling will be much better now!
