I have the current line counters and have a chance to pick up a couple older ones to use for wire. Is the position of the line counter that big of an issue? I love mu silver non counters. I use the more current version for braid divers. Appreciate it.

Can you really load a rod with Scotty releases?
laker1 replied to BRsnow's topic in Tackle and Techniques
OK but does anyone have concerns about the release fraying the line, be it mono or braid? I use the Scotty release and understood that one should always wrap their line with rubber bands to prevent this. Hearing from others on this would be really interesting. Or is this overkill on my part! -
I run sliding dipsys. Can run short or long.

Everyone thinks longer is better and sometimes that's the case. Shorter leaders give your presentation a tighter roll and kick and there are days where short leaders off your divers get smoked. Generally speaking a 10-12' leader is a good place to start.

danjr replied to bearhunter's topic in Boats for Sale
Bearhunter, I am not responding to the boat because it's sold however it looks like you have the oceans south rocket launcher and it looks like you had your planer reels on that. I'm curious how that worked for you? I have been watching one for my sea hunt victory 225 WA which is similar to yours. Thanks! Best, Dan -
