  1. Past hour
  2. It's certainly shaping up to be a better year than the past few years have been and I think with the cormorants moving in it will only improve. Seems to be showing a couple strong year classes from the past few years stocking also so that's great to see. So far for me the 3" baits I made over the winter have paid off, just waiting for a giant to show. Sent from my SM-G960U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. The tiger musky bite is as good as I've seen it right now and the weeds are still below the surface enough to fish over them trolling or casting. Anyone looking to catch tigers it's a great time to give it a go! Mix it up between floaters and suspended lures until you figure out which they prefer. Same goes with speed. There are numbers and some size if you pick thru them. Usually fast is how we think of fishing them, but I had excellent results going extremely slow on a couple recent outings. I'd stick with alewife patterns right now and alewife sized lures as well.
  4. The south shore works better ; check out spoonpullers site !

  7. I would imagine not much boat traffic memorial day. Water is still cold and I think most fishing boats will be on Seneca. I do not fish for atlantics specifically but do catch a few fishing for lakers. They can be anywhere so most all the state launches are good. Silver fish fishermen are pretty tight lipped.

  16. We launched out of Wright’s landing last Thursday looking for browns. We finished south of the plant in shallow water and then out deep for kings. The only luck we had was off of Burt point in about 20 to 30 feet of water. Chartreuse black and green spoons seemed to work the best.
  17. Where are you located Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  19. Thanks all for the responses. R.B., sent you a pm. Sk8man, it’s funny I live right in Newark and never even thought of Colocino’s but stopped at Geneva Electric after work, go figure. I do like the suggestion, I’ll tuck that one away. They changed names but are still a supply house I believe. Good luck to any and all fishing the derby this weekend. Hoping to be right there with you.
  20. I was using the Sam's releases also with my offshore inlines because I had power pro braid behind all my lead core and copper rigs. I found them to be a pain for me. The braid was more likely to tangle around the plastic bracket on the board when the release opened, or even fail to open at all especially if I was trying to pop it to bring the line in. I never liked attaching the Sam's release to the board with the split ring and letting it just dangle, I felt like that was a lot of my problem. Anyway, I spliced a 50 ft piece of 25lb mono in between my lead and braid on all my set ups so the inline board can be clipped on to the mono. Now I just use the standard front clip and it works great for me. Easier to deploy and bring back in. Plus the rear clip holds onto the mono better also and won't slide like it could on the braid.
