  8. I’ve looked it up in the past. We’d be free of downstate politics but we’d be a relatively poor state with minimal representation at the federal level. It would definitely be win some, lose some. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. I got the gear - thanks for dropping it off!

  11. I have 4 of them, ordered them from Cabela's, as stated they are very strong, adjustable for all kinds of attachment points, they work on the gunwales of my Old Town Sport and on the thwarts of my Raddison, even hold a fly rod. I do add a tether to them in case they loosen up, so they are tied to the boat, but they are a fine product.
  12. Ditto everything that Frogger said. Especially "Hank ( L&M) on here is a great resource as well for install needs."
  13. I'm curious as to how the rest of NY would be, primarily financially, if NYC would just go away and be it's own little state. Does anyone have any references as to how much tax revenue from NYC is used outside of NYC? And how much tax revenue from outside NYC STAYS outside NYC?
  14. I prefer the clear boxes. Organize them by color/size so I'm not flipping through layers of spoons. Plus, if someone leaves the Special Mate open in rougher seas and it takes a spill, not fun to clean up and reorganize. I know from experience.
  15. The Greater Niagara Outdoor Show is a really good show for trolling and fishing lake Ontario and Erie and their tributaries. Many of us that love trolling the lakes have everything we need to do it. It is great to get out and see some of the new products and talk to people who love what we do as much as us. All the vendors and manufacturers reps are very helpful and willing to share their knowledge to make us better fishermen. The seminars are nice and informative. I always seem to pick up a trick or new technique with everyone I attend. I attended the salmon school on Saturday which is a wealth of information for trolling. The captains Andy, Pete and Matt do a great job explaining and showing us the techniques and tackle that works best for them. They also teach the best way to find the fish we are targeting mostly salmon and trout in many different lake conditions. And they make themselves available for questions during the salmon school and throughout the entire weekend. All in all it's a nice show and it gives us a nice weekend in the middle of winter to talk and think about fishing. Sent from my SM-G973U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Hey Buck, I would do a search on this as there has been a tremendous amount of talk with exactly what your looking for. There are several opinions as to models and types, some for the big motor since you already have hydraulic and it being tied to the kicker with a bar, some like the trolling motor with the AP on that, some like having the electric motor on the front with an ipilot and just run your kicker. As far as brands there again are all types and you will get all sorts of responses. You really will have to determine what you have and how much you are willing to invest, Putting one on is the best thing I did for my rig. As far as install, if you ever installed a depth finder and can do basic plumbing work or are mechanically inclined id say you can install an AP, at least from what I learned with installing a Raymarine AP. Once you figure out how the fittings / lines run for the steering, you mount and wire up everything else and it ends being a nice little project that you would be glad you did. I understand though if its better from a time standpoint to get some one to install. Hank ( L&M) on here is a great resource as well for install needs.Good luck on your project.

  18. Reportedly 6 billion short. If any business operated like NYS with the Emperor for a CEO it would have been defunct a long time ago.
  19. I want have an autopilot installed on my boat, but I have virtually no knowledge of autopilots, so thought I'd come here for some expert advice. I have a 2019 Starcraft Fishmaster 196 with a 150HP Yamaha and 9.9 Yamaha Hi-Thrust Kicker. The motors are connected with a tie-bar, seastar hydraulic steering for the big motor. Any advice as to what brand/type of autopilot that would work for this setup would be greatly appreciated. Some questions that come to mind: Would the autopilot be installed on the big motor or the kicker? If on the big motor, would that motor need to be running to steer the Kicker Motor? Thanks Mike
