  2. Every fish caught last night out of Oswego had a lamprey on it. 4 for 4
  3. Its because the lazy bas**** didn't treat the rivers for two years because of covid. There excuse was that we couldnt put our field people at risk even though it was all outdoors. Shameful. Exactly the same situation on our side of the pond. Sheer incompetence.
  4. Yes, north end-east side. Gotta try the south end a little more at some point though.

Sounds like a good start. Were you up north on the east side? haven’t been out yet myself
  6. Thanks for the info. If I can figure out how to upload a video of it running I'll post it. It's a good classic. Someone had it inspected in 2017. A little work and she'll clean up nice
  7. Those in-line 6s are bulletproof. Hammer it down ,trim it out and take note of the RPMs . That's the only way to know if you're propped correctly. The only thing I would do is swap it out to a electronic ignition , as in no points ,if it hasn't already been done .
  8. We got it up to 24mph sog @3900 rpms. Seemed to run good at 4100. I didn't push it much harder because my kicker motor pull cord broke and didn't wanna be out there with no back up or tools to get the pull start off. We probably never got it fully on plane because my fishing partner told us not to go over 3200... He probably read the manual and it says first 10 hrs of break in don't go over 3200 but the boat is well over its 10 hr breaking period lol

  10. Hello - Has this sold? I'm interested. I'll send you a PM as well. Thanks!
  11. Hi everyone, Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Wes, and I actually found this site ironically searching for a Cannon Digit-Troll IV downrigger / replacement parts. I am actually in Northern California, and I'm passionate about using downriggers for controlled depth fishing particularly for landlocked Sockeye Salmon (aka Kokanee) and just Salmon in general. Hoping to learn more from the members here on styles of fishing and approaches to apply back here in CA.

Nice going I have yet to get out....but soon
  13. I’m selling a slightly used Daiwa Seagate LW50H. This reel was used for a 250 copper. Great reel for a 200 -250 copper or a 10 color leadcore. $80.00 local pick up in Hilton NY or shipped to the lower 48 for $85.00.
  14. Sounds great. Shoot me a pm for payment and for pick up location
  15. You know shockingly, with TSS and the really wonderful small companies that are custom loading tss for 410, it really isn't a challenge at all. I have run this 5lb turkey gun that is as quiet as a .22 for three years and killed 5 turkeys with it. I have had no issues and have never once been concerned when the trigger pull was about to happen. Now I have done extensive pattern testing, and know exactly what my gun can do (over 25 in the head and neck at 55), so I feel great using this little pea shooter. I am honestly so on the sub-gauge train that I cannot believe that anyone uses a 12 gauge in the turkey woods anymore (in regards to TSS). The 40-yard pattern tests of 12 gauge #5 lead and 410 #9 TSS aren't even close. The 410 blows the 12 away!
  16. Well , you never opened it up and wonder why you're only getting 12 mph ? Seriously ? You could be right below the speed where the boat gets up on a plane and all you're doing is pushing water . Your tach , should be 1 - 200 RPMs ( with your normal load and gas level ) under the Mfg rated ones , which is usually marked on the valve cover , if you're propped correctly. No , pulling the prop is not going to allow you to count gear teeth. You have to pull the outdrive , mark both the drive shaft and prop shaft , spin the drive shaft 365 and note how many times the prop shaft turns with one turn of the drive shaft . Doesn't have to be precise , but should give you a ballpark figure of the gear ratio. Report back after you take it out , run it at WOT and trim the outdrive up to just below where it starts to cavitate . You'll feel or hear the RPMs going up at that point . Going to need the RPM numbers from that test ride . Yes ,3900 - 4300 rpms is the rating , 4100 + would be the sweet spot , below 3900 means you are lugging the engine , working it to death . Generally they try to have you running a 17 -19 pitch prop , so the drives are all geared for that .
  17. Had to use a few days for work before losing them. Finally took the maiden voyage of the season. Better late than never. Fished East side. All fish came on spoons 30-50' down. Caught two 18" bows, a 19" unicorn brown (#4), and a 28" #7.5 laker. Can't say the last time I caught a brown here. What a fatty it was. Most likely my first canandaigua trout slam with 3 species. Turned out to be nice day. Tight lines!
  18. *** I can't seem to get one side to work*** Other side works perfectly Could be wiring I don't know.. I'm not very good with wiring. Will come with base, snubbers electrical connections and releases Located in greece Make me an offer
  19. yes, great story. And to turkey hunt with a 410 - wow, that puts a limit on things! Congrats!
  20. dingy boat comes with aluminum oars, swivel seat and anchor and life preserver. 8ft. long 4ft wide. Like new $550.00 518-863-4193
  21. 2Hp Yamaha outboard motor low hours, new water impeller $425.00 518-863-4193
  22. I haven't put it over 3200 rpms. Was told not to run it over that but then I looked in the original owners manual and believe it says 3900- 4300 I believe. I'll measure the prop when I get home. Going to go out later and see how it operates at the higher rpms. I can't remember if the original outdrive had cavitation fins or not. The new outdrive has holes drilled for them. I can take the outdrive off and spin the prop or pop the top off and count teeth. I'm going by the sticker on the outside and specs based on mercruiser chart
  23. What size is the new prop vs the old one ? How many RPMs are you getting at WOT ? Are you 100% sure the outdrives are the same ratio ? As in you've spun the prop / prop drive shaft and counted the rotations to at least get a idea that they are the same ratio ?
