  1. Pennyanboats.com. They sell parts to Penn Yan boats.
  2. You can fish the bar but you can not target lakers out of season.
  3. No. You are not supposed to target out of season species in NY.

    I-Bay night bite

It does not over flow to the bay. It over flows to the one retention pond in Durand is what I was told.
  5. It is the same as any other time of the year. Late in the month, they will be found a little closer to the spawning grounds in the area. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. It will work. The leader material is stiffer and more abrasion resistant.
  7. I have tried ever since they took them out and Dave will not budge......
  8. There is another one just past that one that is a week and a half old. Shouldn't be too ripe Bill.
  9. I am going to mount the next one over 32lbs. They are way harder to get now than they were back in the hay days.
  10. Alewives carry high levels of thianamse. Ciscoes and Herring - low levels. Therefore ciscos are way healthier for trout and salmon. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  11. I took my wife and kid for a boat ride and has 5' close to the West pier. Coming in more towards the middle I had 4'.
  12. Ciscos / Herring are very low in Thianamase. This is what we were told at the state of the lake meetings.
  13. That's is not what we want. That gives sportsmen a bad name. If people see dead lakers floating all over and washing up on the beach, that looks bad. Sportsmen already get a bad name from slobs that litter on the banks of tribs, ponds and lakes. Also the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the DEC would not think too highly of this. It is bad enough guys are not handling them properly and there are floaters all over somedays. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  14. This is already being discussed here: http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing-hunting/topic/61073-overview-for-discussions-regarding-2017-salmon-and-trout-stocking-levels-in-lake-ontario/
  15. If you want fish out of the system, raise creel limits. Raising the creel limit on Lakers would decrease the adult population and would have immediate results.
  16. Drifting the Niagara Bar at that time of the year is your best bet.
  17. So the last two years, Sandy Creek Pen rearing did not pen any kings. Did we get extra direct stock because their survival rate was lower? If not, we should have by that logic.......
  18. 2012 - the best season I fished on Lake Ontario in 32 years of doing it 2013 - good year 2014 - slow year 2015 - slow year 2016 - Decent / good year I'm having trouble finding five bad years here.
  19. I feel all stocked kings should continue to be clipped to keep track of natural reproduction. The study was done for too short of a duration IMO. Was it done over a banner stretch of natural reproduction and it has changed? Have the natural reproduction numbers dropped? We have the trailer, why not use it to have more data to help manage the fishery?
  20. A couple guys on Lake Michigan rented the wand they use to see if a CWD tag is in a king. They found some very information. The number of unclipped fish WITH a CWD tag was higher than we were lead to believe. Check out No SALMON SOCIETY on Facebook. It is a closed group. Some interesting reads on the page.
  21. There would not be a need to up the creel limit for lakers if guys would fish them more. They are stocked and very few are kept.
  22. The reduction in lake trout is a good move in the DEC's part IMO. The kings are not the only major threat to the alewive population. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  23. I got 300yds 50lb power pro on both my 350 and 400. It was tight but it fit.
  24. Unfortunately his lab coat is all he wears! Why do you think he does so many solo trips! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  25. The oak above my boat has a ton. They are all over my boat!
