  1. Good luck. Like I said Wellcraft is a great boat
  2. I have an 89 Coastal walk around that will be going up for sale this spring. I bought a 262 Penn Yan to run my business out of. To answer your question Wellcraft Coastals were a quality built boat that handles rough water great. Wellcraft went down the tubes during the height of the recession in 09. I loved the boat and was great for fun fishing with three or 4 guys and the wife and I have spent many over nights in the large cabin. Also did very well in the proams against a lot of bigger boats. Just not big enough for running a Charter business out of She will do about 40 mph at wot with the 200 hp Yami and trolls great on the 15 hp 4 stroke kicker. Cruises like a dream at 30 mph. Hope you find one that you like. Long season with the outboards Over all I would give the Coastal a great rating and not just because I owned one.
  3. Now the holidays are over I will be looking to take the 5 hr drive out for the Seneca LL's. The trip will have to be a quick decision as it's all weather dependent and it's gotta happen on a weekend due to work. Last year I was laid off so I could go when the weather allowed and stayed at my buddys house, rustyrat (thanks Scott) but this year I am pressed for time and weekends only. Biggest problem is I will need lodging close to the South End of Seneca and it's got to be able to accommodate my truck and 16 fter. Hopefully I could leave my gear in the boat and have it still be there the next morning. I also need to get reservations within a couple days of the trip. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks Glen
  4. Good luck and enjoy.
  5. Happy, Safe and Prosperous New Year to the crew at LOU Glen
  6. Sounds like you need a new FF Tim
  7. Can't tell you how many thousands of fish I've taken out of temp. I see them on the graph, I catch them. I don't see them on the graph, I move. Down speed and temp is a good tool absolutely. I much prefer a quality FF. Fish Hawk, Depth Raider or Sub Troll. They all work and it's all about personal preference. I run a Sub troll and it does what I want it to do. Good luck. Glen
  8. x 2 Talora TLA-80mrg-2 8 ft coupled with a Shimano tekota 600lc is a pretty sweet rig for LO Kings. Do you need a roller guide rod? No. But they are a pleasure to fish wire with and your wire will last a couple of seasons longer going through the rollers. Worth the extra money as far as I'm concerned. Good luck
  9. Hoping you and your families have a great Christmas and a happy and safe New Years. April will be here before you know it. Glen and Kelly
  10. I installed Firefox and now I have no sound (audio). Any ideas? Thanks
  11. Not only on this forum Tom but the other two MA forums I belong to as well. Also the quote feature isn't working for me. This all happened all of a sudden, thought is was my machine. Any of you computer gurus have a solution? Thanks Glen
  12. All downhill from here Dave
  13. Wish I could get the time off of work to get back into fishing them now they are straightened out. It's not happening with this new job I started last February. Really nice to post the dates so far in advance also. Jesus, makes one think the contestants are important. That's a pleasant change. Keep up the good work guys.
  14. Good radio and all you need. http://www.thegpsstore.com/Standard-Horizon-GX1200-Black.aspx Or the GX1600.
  15. Thanks. I will convert them over rather than cleaning and regreasing the originals.
  16. Are you running the dry washers on your 600,s Jimmy? I got 16 or so to do this winter and have been considering going with the dry washers. Thanks Capt. Glen Gervais
  17. Thoughts and prayers to you , your wife and family. Glen and Kelly
  18. I used to fish late into Nov. Brown and Rainbow fishing can be great as well as 2 yr old Salmon if you can find them. Wind is an issue this time of year as well. It got too stressful leaving the boat in and being 260 miles away during the week. The weather can turn fast. Just remember if you go out on that lake this time of year, that help is hard to come by should a problem arise. Your basically on your own so be safe. Good luck Glen
  19. Happy B day Musky.
  20. Just how old are you talking about. My 20 + year old Evinrude I currently run on a 16 ft Alumicraft is a 50:1 mixture and I believe the 7 1/2 hp Mercury I bought new in 78 also ran 50:1
  21. Be careful about running after market oil if your outboard is still under warranty, it can void the warranty. That said I have always run the manufactures oil in all my outboards, forty years worth. I have never had a oil related issue with any of them. If it aint broke I aint gonna fix it. Good luck with your decision.
  22. Happy Birthday Pete. Hope it was a great day for you.
