Sodus Pro/Am dates set
spoonfed-1 replied to fishman08's topic in Tournament Talk, Shows, Events & Seminars
Wish I could get the time off of work to get back into fishing them now they are straightened out. It's not happening with this new job I started last February. Really nice to post the dates so far in advance also. Jesus, makes one think the contestants are important. That's a pleasant change. Keep up the good work guys. -
Good radio and all you need. http://www.thegpsstore.com/Standard-Horizon-GX1200-Black.aspx Or the GX1600.

still fishing?
spoonfed-1 replied to bondouley's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
I used to fish late into Nov. Brown and Rainbow fishing can be great as well as 2 yr old Salmon if you can find them. Wind is an issue this time of year as well. It got too stressful leaving the boat in and being 260 miles away during the week. The weather can turn fast. Just remember if you go out on that lake this time of year, that help is hard to come by should a problem arise. Your basically on your own so be safe. Good luck Glen -
Happy B day Musky.

Be careful about running after market oil if your outboard is still under warranty, it can void the warranty. That said I have always run the manufactures oil in all my outboards, forty years worth. I have never had a oil related issue with any of them. If it aint broke I aint gonna fix it. Good luck with your decision.

Happy Birthday Pete. Hope it was a great day for you.

Tieing mono to wire ?
spoonfed-1 replied to fisherman 57's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
Use a # 8 or 10 spro barrel swivel with a traditional wire knot to the swivel and a clinch knot for the mono. -

Because of starting the Charter business last fall, as much as I love my Wellcraft I needed a bigger boat with more room and comfort for a full crew of customers. Got a call from Hank about a solid Penn Yan Competitor that his friend Bill was selling, checked it out and to make a long story short I bought this boat 2 weeks before I had two full weeks of straight bookings for the fall salmon season. My friend Hank installed hydraulic steering, Simrad AP, Furuno 585 w through hull trans., Garmin gps , new water fittings, rewired the entire boat, replaced the bolster cushions, gave me more travel of the rudder and numerous other problems. Hank not only got this boat done on time to get it in the water for my two week fishing blitz, everything was done right and everything functioned perfectly. No rework involved in any of the work he did which in itself is pretty dam amazing. Hank I really appreciate the amount and quality of the work you did in such a short time. My customers were very impressed with the room and comfort of this boat and she fishes like a dream. I just can't say enough about the work that Hank did for me. Hank your off the hook for screwing up the new touch screen gps. (private joke) Reason you were having problems with it was it was a bad head unit. Spent over an hour on the phone with Garmin tech support, who by the way was excellent, before they discovered the unit was bad. They overnighted me a new one and it does what it is supposed to do with no issues and it's pretty sweet. Problem with the head unit was when you made a selection on the screen it would select something else. There is a touch alignment program that wasn't working correctly. I had to run 4 trips zoomed into 20 ft. Well thanks again Hank and we will see you soon. The Spoonfed-2 Good fishing Glen

Is the lake fishing done?
spoonfed-1 replied to Pennay's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
No, you are not wasting your time. Still a couple weeks of good Salmon fishing left. How good is dependent on the weather. It was shaping up to be a banner season until the three day blow this past week. Fishing got tough and you had to work for them but plenty of fish around. Good luck. Glen -

I want to upgrade to LED's for my side nav lights on a 262 competitor. Anybody got any recommendations for lights that will work good and cover the foot print from the old lights? Thanks Glen

Salmon season is starting. Fish are spread out but nice quality with the biggest at 27 lbs. Hit some big Steelhead out in 200-225 with Lakers down deeper and although we didn't fish for them heard there were some Browns moving back in 30-40 fow. Wife and I were just out searching and relaxing for the mornings. Freakin hot out there Good fishing Glen
