Well done! I almost got spooled on a king on Wednesday on a eight color w/flasher/fly before it shook the hook. What a time to have boat issue while there are four year olds around.

Stupid easy fishing continues off Niagara county. Fished from 10:30-4 and took over 40 fish. Fat lakers were a nuisance even high in water column. Lots of kings The age structure has changed this week from mostly three year olds all this spring to mostly two year olds as a percentage. The bad news is after 14 years with my current rig, boater’s bad luck gremlins caught up with me. I got a towed. Special thanks to the town of Newfane fire dept for the assistance. I was sad to see the cormorants tearing up the released king fingerlings. It looks like they got crushed.

A Skeeter bass boat? All launches are open in most towns. Right now Niagara County has the most Salmon if that is what you are targeting. Mostly spoons this time of year. If you cannot get out on Lake Ontario, depending on the wind direction, you may be able to get out on nearby lake Erie. There is a break wall protecting Buffalo. There are Walleyes around and a trophy bass season that allows catch and release plus a creel limit of one trophy-over 21" bass.

I am thinking there will definitely be some blue cheeks after all this.

After taking some courses on parasitology and inveterate zoology in undergrad, my take away was I would NEVER eat raw fish.

Have you tried throwing those jig bodies on an underspin jig style? Might help you to fish them slower with more vibration.

The take away should be don’t throw spent baits overboard. Yes, fish will tear them off but treat spent baits like most treat spent mono.

That fish could fatten up to win a derby this year. Can’t do that if in a cooler. Thanks for releasing.
