Ethanol is politics. It is heavily subsidized and it has always been no matter what political club is in charge. So why is there a renewed push to produce more? Due to differences of opinion about import duty, China has decided to buy soybeans and corn elsewhere,leaving our farmers with mountains of corn and soybeans and nobody buying. At least the corn can be turned into ethanol and mixed with gasoline , This helps our farmers sell their corn and leaves everybody else holding the tab for the subsidy cost of making ethanol which we don't want to begin with. But you know that the farmers are a huge voting block in the mid western states and making farmers unhappy is not a good thing for politicians. Maybe paying farmers a monthly wage without them having to grow products that we subsidize, will make everybody happier. Another way to make everybody happier is by turning surplus corn into Kentucky Bourbon instead of ethanol.

The rig in question is a 1989 V221 Islander and the engine will be a 175 Suzuki outboard. The Islander itself is in good shape and engineless worth about $1000 . The engine ,new steering and Transom changes cost about $14000. But it is something you can do.

It's crazy, Irondequoit Creek has been overflowing its banks on and off for over a week now. The ground upstream is water saturated for miles. And now with more rain and snow on the way it is going to stay soggy for at least another week.. Driving along the lake, the brown water is about 500 yards wide all the way from Rochester to Point Breeze and probably farther west as well.

In a place like that, you should have a V shaped one that is not as much of a deep V but a V shaped type that is also a roller so the bow can roll into it to the ideal spot without having to push up against something that does not move.
