  1. Pretty sure it was called ‘Later Gator’ - can just add a glow ladderback to a regular Gator if you can’t find it and need to make one. Came in silver cup and glow cup versions.
  2. That sucks unfortunately - I have taken my digital scale to multiple fish we have weighed in for the LOC - after weighing the fish on the LOC scales I immediately weigh it on my digital scale and I know that my scale weighs about .1 to .15 pounds lower over a range of weights....just a good data point that helps me make the decision as to whether I am pulling lines and running in or not.
  3. Quick little video my son made of a morning shore casting for Brown Trout west of Sodus. Tossing Cleo’s and stickbaits on spinning gear. Lots of fun!! Please consider subscribing as my son is trying to grow his channel - should be some good Lake Ontario trolling videos this year now that he has a GoPro and the big boat is in!

  4. Is this a DRx-10 system?

  6. The biggest part of the job will be removing the old bottom paint if old paint is present. That typically involves some form of media blasting. If it's never been painted then its a much simpler job.
  7. The fish in Naples Creek aren't stocked - they are indeed in that creek to spawn. The rotary club down there has held that derby for probably 60 years at least.
  8. I have purchased from this member recently - no issues smooth transaction!
  9. JB Quick - less messy than JB Weld but you only get a few minutes of working time so mix and go - small batche.
  10. huh?
  11. We fished again yesterday morning out of Oswego - went out with a couple of my fishing buddies for some fun fishing for stagers. Left the dock at 6am and ran out a touch east and set down in 130 fow to check temps to see how swampy it was. 120 feet down found 52 degrees so knew we would be OK - area was loaded with fish so we set up right there and started pushing east. Hard south wind made the troll tough - very crabbed out going east/west but decided to give that a shot. Took one quick shot on a 500 copper but missed. A couple minutes later it went again - Hammertime chip with an A-TOM-MIK K41 fly. 16 pound king. Missed on a rigger a few minutes later. Decided to turn and troll back west wondering if it was directional - same rigger we missed on fired 15 minutes later - 23 pound king - that rigger was fishing in 60 degree water. Custom white paddle with another Kevin 41. Trolled back through a bunch of fish without a touch and decided that we could get a better direction going North/South - wasn't sure what the screen would look like but made the turn out to see. Fished 125 out to 350 for the next few hours. Did a few bites each pass with a couple of doubles but overall a steady pick with rods moving well all morning. Called it quits around noon. Amassed a total of 16 fish we fought for the morning and scooped 10. Had a few more misses - quick on/off before we got to a diver or rod that never made it out of the holder. Landed 4 nice coho and the rest kings. Lost a couple good ones as well. Had a meat rod in the water for a bit but changed that out for a fly later as it wasn't taking any bites and fished seemed to be very neutral toward it on the panoptics. Made some small tweaks to the spread and got things going better. 500 coppers, Riggers out 115-135 feet of cable and a pair of wire divers on 20# wire. Saw very few fish above 100 feet down on the graph. Most fish seemed to be hanging between 110-125 feet down in the upper 50 degree water. Ran a 5 rod spread which consisted of a chute copper, 2 divers on a 2 setting with 20# wire, and 2 corner riggers. Left the center rigger out of the water which is my high rigger. Didn't want to crowd the zone - paid off as we seemed to do better than most of the guys who were out yesterday that we talked to. Best flies - A-Tom-Mik OG Hammer (T102), Crinkle Green (T023), Mirage (T097) and Kevin 41 (K041) took most of our fish. I think we had one bite on a Stud fly early as well...Fishing is good if you can get out. Definitely winding down...

  13. We plan to be out tomorrow morning - will post a report - leaving out of Oswego.
  14. We fished Saturday evening out of Oswego between the plant and 5 stacks and had a decent evening. 15 bites and scooped 10. No coho all kings. Couple good ones and a bunch of average ones. Decent screen - not loaded but definitely fishable.
  15. Fished last night to the east. Left the dock around 12:30 but needed fuel and a pump out - started setting rods around 1:15pm. 110 to 140 fow. Had 52 degrees down around 100 feet - most fish were between 52 to 60 degree water. Did around 15 bites and slid the hoop under 10. Pulled rods at 6:45pm. Didn't fish today but west wind started blowing - that's going to eliminate that cold sliver of water at the bottom of the column for sure. Heard guys were running 135-155 feet of rigger cable this morning fishing a touch deeper to get to fish for the time they were out. No Coho for us last night but a lot of nice adult kings. 3 riggers, 2 divers, and a chute copper for us last night. High rigger with a plug never took a bite although we saw a few fish up there. Meat on a deep rigger which took a couple bites and the rest of the rods were fishing flies. Best flies last night - A-Tom-Mik Big Fin Glow when it got a little brighter otherwise A-Tom-Mik Glow Studs and K41's took most of the rest of the bites.
  16. Absolute first thing to do as soon as it's pulled and the growth is still wet is to power wash as much of it off as possible - it will make the rest of the job exponentially easier....
  17. We fished Sunday - we have been fishing 650-700 fow up until this weekend. Not as action packed as the offshore bite has been but fewer and fewer adults each trip out deep the last 2 weeks. We started Sunday in 185 fow and found 200-380 our best water. Some really nice cohos, average adults and a few 2YOs mixed in. Only ran 4 rods as fish were deep - 135 -165 riggers were good and mag divers on 20# wire got down far enough to generate bites. Currents were bad. we were 12 for 15 Sunday morning. Went past the lighthouse at 6am and quit fishing around 11:30. Both meat and flies for us Sunday - fly bite starting to pick up for sure as it had been all meat and a few spoons offshore. Best flies for us - A-Tom-Mik Mirage, Stud and Glow Stud and Crinkle Green in the sun. Also took a couple bites on B-Flies and a couple on Glow Hammer early.
  18. I'll second Brian - we have stored our boats next to one another for several years now int he offseason and he did the latest survey on my boat this past season - very thorough report. He worked within my schedule that kept slipping to the right due to some issues getting motors lifted back into my boat which was beyond my control - I was present for the survey and he left no stone un-turned.
  19. Super fast shipping and item as described. Thanks again!
  20. FishHawk still has a few of the older X4 probes for sale on their website - I was on their website last week and saw them at $349 I think.... https://fishhawkelectronics.com/categories/fish-hawk-probes.html
  21. The other way you will hear folks communicate is with their west number (Longitude) and a depth. So say 30.5 west and 350 feet of water for instance. This seems more common on the east end of the lake. Of course you have the guys who communicate via landmarks as well (The High Rocks, The Plant, 5 pipes, The Racetrack, The Radio Tower, The Sh1t plant, Front Door, Weather buoy, 2-stacks, Rudy's, The College, The Rice Bowl, The Can, West 9, the list goes on....)
  22. There is a lot of info available on YouTube for sure. Russell Gahagan out of Wisconsin has a lot of great how-to vids out there on Youtube and also has a website that could help to shorten the learning curve. Also - don't neglect things like the Greater Niagara Fishing Expo in February - lots of free seminars that focus on education as well as a specific all day school for a small fee. https://www.russellsfishingtech.net/ https://niagarafishingexpo.com/
  23. Yes half mile is more than enough - few hundred yards off the side is good! You can certainly get closer....BUT don't cut behind them - this time of year a lot of guys can be running long coppers that can stretch back 500-600 feet without a fish attached - 1000' out with an angry king so definitely don't cut behind folks.
  24. You absolutely can be successful. There are a lot of guys with gadgets who don't understand the basics - that being said knowing how to use the data you have in front of you certainly can help you to make better decisions. First thing is fish location - yes you have a fish finder - but best thing here is to look for the bigger charter boats - they can help to guide you towards a a general area or general depth of water. Look for fish on your graph and use that as a guage as to how deep to fish. The highest marks always are tough to catch - if it was me I wouldn't target all of the high marks most days. In a given direction "match speed" with the charter boats and note that on say an east heading GPS speed was 2.5MPH or whatever.....that will give you an idea of what speed to run that direction - going any other direction you could be faster or slower.....but start there and vary speed a little until you start to get bites and record both GPS speed AND direction to start building some history on the day Learn to read your diver rods - pay attention to the bend - you want a nice healthy bend on them at the proper trolling speed most times. Note how they are running when you are generating bites.
  25. For straight runs of that length you don't need wire reinforced hose. Check out Defender.com - search on 4" wet exhaust hose. You can absolutely use softwall hose for an 18" run as they are reinforced with cord.
