  1. 1 looks more artistic....that would be my vote. From an aesthetic viewpoint it is balanced. The head of the fish does not hang over the sides and the body of the fish frames the acrylic holder where presumably you put the winners name or whatever. Number 2 your attention is drawn away from the center of the piece....focal point is outside of the base.
  2. To get our minds off the ice - here is a vid of a few hours one morning out of fair haven with my buddy's kids. Couldn't keep the rods in the water! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkK3HNe9K9M Enjoy!
  3. Took my buddy's kids out for a few hours one morning in July out of Fair Haven...couldn't keep the rods in the water! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkK3HNe9K9M Enjoy!
  4. What kind of help are you looking for?
  5. It doesn't really matter which you set first...if you have 300 feet of copper out or 300 feet out on your dipsey....the dipsey dives at greater rate than the copper...even with a standard size 1 dipsey and on a 3 setting you should not have any problems passing the copper across the dipsey...just make sure you are going in a straight line and not turning when you try this. Also helps to kick up the speed just a tad...
  6. We got out yesterday. Started setting up in 125 fow and trolled out. ..Starting hitting fish right away, and worked that waypoint for the rest of the morning. Went 10-14 in around 3 hours. Quick 3 man limit and got another one which we tossed while clearing rods. Had to make room in the cooler, but a good morning for sure. Looks like lots of fish are starting to show at this end of the lake now. Pure Mayhem for the short time we were out. Every rod we had out took a shot with the exception of one dipsey which we couldn't get to fire. Most fish were in the 22-26 pound class but we did get one that was 29. Took the cooler to Oswego on the way home to have them cleaned so we wouldn't have to deal with the carcasses. Shot of the big fish below as well as a shot after the first hour when we had to make room in the cooler!.
  7. Took a few kings one morning on light line up high when the temps were screwed up a few weeks back....took a solid 20 minutes to land this guy....audio isn't very good because had the GoPro in the waterproof case - but if you turn the volume up a little you can hear the reel scream! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMwXiuUBw-E
  8. Here's the video we took on the GoPro of one of the kings. Fought the fish right up top....audio isn't the best because I forgot I had the camera in the waterproof case - but if you turn the sound up a bit you can hear it screaming! http://youtu.be/iMwXiuUBw-E
  9. Fished out of FH yesterday morning and went 8 for 9. Worked shallow early and took 4 browns and a laker, then slid out and landed 3 kings and lost a nice fish on a 200 copper. Will post a video later of one of the kings we took yesterday...water was pretty cold. 46 degrees down 27 feet on the inside.
  10. You bet - 3 to 5 colors of leadcore will do the trick at those depths....
  11. I think what's hard to believe is not that the copper doesn't go as deep as we thought etc. it's that those fish are apparently either that high in the water column or are coming up out of deeper water to hit...
  12. I had the same thing happen. Small crack developed and battery compartment was about half full of water. I called them up and explained the situation on a Monday, and I had a new probe in hand by Thursday fully under warranty. I then had to put the old probe back in the box and affix the new shipping label and mail it back to them. Excellent customer service from my experience....
  13. I have a couple that have never been used....rolled around on the floor so there is a little scuffing on them. Basic balls with black rubber coating and 12 lbs. each. If the other guy doesn't have what you want hit me back and we can talk....
  14. I would rather have surface speed than probe depth for the help of identifying currents as one assumes that speed at the transducer measures speed the same as at the probe. SOG from GPS isn't helpful as a replacement for the surface speed. If you don't have too much blowback you can turn up the gain and see where your riggers are tracking anyways with the regular X4.
  15. It's likely accesible from the splashwell in the back. If you unscrew access panels in the back you 'should' notice a pump which is right on the opposite side of the transom from the inlet for the livewell. There should be a couple thru hull fittings back there. One for a washdown pump (on the newer fishmasters), one for the drain plug, and the other for the livewell. There should be a pump right near that thru-hull fitting and in line with the hose that feeds the livewell....Hope that helps.
  16. Could have been damaged in Hurricane Sandy also if it's from down there.....
  17. Have two Shimano Tekota 700 reels for sale. One is almost brand new, and the other is definitely in used shape, although functional. Pics will show the boat rash on the one reel. Drag is in great shape on the both reels, but clicker is a little weak on the more used reel. Asking $240 for the pair. shoot me a PM if interested. Prefer local pickup in Baldwinsville NY.
  18. Was this the same boat that was for sale last year or early this year on this site? [ Post made via iPhone ]
  19. With light winds predicted you should be fine to head south from the north end. The first major dropoff headed south will be in the area of the pump house which is on the west shore a little ways south of the yacht club. Start in 65-70 feet of water if you are looking for lakers. [ Post made via iPhone ]
