  1. My best colors for the kings are something with dark green/black/glo together. 42nd, nbk, gator. 25-45 ft down in 50-100 fow. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  2. I hit bottom and dragged it when the lake got nasty and pushed me shallow over the weekend. The point on the front is a little more blunt and one side is far from smooth (got a case of zebra mussel rash). Will this dramatically effect my blowback or tracking? [ Post made via iPhone ]
  3. Walleye season starts this Saturday! They get some monsters in the oz river and harbor. Bounce worms or troll huge rapalas. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  4. You did well! Good report! [ Post made via iPhone ]
  5. I don't buy many rapalas cuz they don't have rattles and are more $. I like the rattling rogues! [ Post made via iPhone ]
  6. WOW...you guys did some damage! I had 3 on in the first hour and a half (all diver bites) then headed for cover. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  7. Nice report! It got really bumpy out in oz land too. Def not 2 ft or less like weather underground predicted! [ Post made via iPhone ]
  8. Congrats! I aim for 2 mph for browns and just under 3 for salmon. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  9. I like to rub a new fly against a dead slimy king that's in the box to "freshen" it up! [ Post made via iPhone ]
  10. 1/2 keel towards the rope. The L points away from the rope. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  11. I think most guys have their lips zipped...cuz theirs a tournament this weekend on the west end. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  12. If you run the search engine: there was a thread a while ago about favorite flashers/flies. Seemed like white/white, Carmel dolphin and hawgwild had a lot of votes. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  13. I use AFW 30 lbs stainless 7-strand in camo. I bought mine from the A-tom-mic MFG website already spooled on daiwa sealine reels. He also sells spools of AFW or Torpedo wire. I believe bass pro and cabelas carries it also. I order my michigan stinger spoons from fish307.com
  14. You might as well get wire now. Otherwise you will buy braid....get frustrated by the fleas...then buy wire.
  15. You could always go to sodus point to capt jacks.
  16. Generally, i shoot for around 2 mph for shallow browns and just under 3 mph for deep salmon. That's at the surface. I don't have a fish hawk yet. But i vary it depending on currents and watch the bend in my dipsey rods during the summer.
  17. High mortality rate in the summer. Pull them up out of the cold deep into bath water...they are done.
  18. Agreed, but those Lunds he's looking at don't look any deeper. And they are $60-70K new....HOLY! The Starcraft FM 2010 is very deep and $50k. What do the Hewes run?
  19. I will agree that the trackers are GARBAGE!!! I looked at a few used ones before i bought my Lowe. One already had a couples holes in the bottom. Have you looked at the Lowes? I've had mine out in snotty seas. They are a lot less money than the Lund's. But, i can't see anything being better than the Starcraft Fishmaster. That will be my next craft.
  20. Starcraft fish master 210 [ Post made via iPhone ]
  21. I would bring it all. Fish could be shallow or deeper this time of the year. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  22. You're good to go! Some like light leaders and some don't. I run 10 ft 12 lbs floro leaders with a spro swivel off 20 lbs mono. Def use swivels on your spoons or sticks. Run any of those lures off your boards or a few feet down off the riggers. Use long leads. Look for surface temp changes and dirty water. Good luck! [ Post made via iPhone ]
  23. Got mine Rick! Nice craftsmanship! Thanks again! [ Post made via iPhone ]
  24. A lot of people run dipseys on braid in the late spring-early summer. Give it a try! [ Post made via iPhone ]
