Rebuild or repower my 2007 merc optimax 90hp
Frogger replied to trickworm33's topic in This Old Boat
I believe it was a lifetime on parts and workmanship. I had to purchase a new VRO for mine to be accepted. Did mine about 8 yrs or so ago. I would do it again if I ever needed to. If I remember right everything replaced was HD forged pistons etc. just another option for ya is all. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
Agreed. They also in the past, performed electro shocking studies in Irondequoit back in the late 80”s with high success rates. I’d be surprised if it’s changed that much where the ecosystem wouldn’t still be favorable location. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

If you decide to rebuild and for considerably less, take a look at these guys. http://www.tenkillermarine.com/powerhead. There out in OK. Easy process to be dead honest. Use a local shop to take head off. Take off the electrical stuff. Bolt to a piece of plywood and ship it. Two weeks or so later you have a new power head. Have the same shop put it back together. Saved me a ton and less headaches. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United -

I’ve got Traxtech. Pricey, but solid as a rock, use with dipseys or boards etc. had to send back to get re-adjusted. Hard time swiveling out and in. Think they put the heavier spring in for a 4 tree vs 2 tree. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

Seneca (rumor)greenridge power plant got approved
Frogger replied to Roys Boys's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
To be honest, it wasn’t even a thing back then or I was too young and stupid to know the dangers of it. Warm water discharge does a lot of positive things for the fishery. Now, with that said, what’s in that outflow and the changes it could make going from high to low etc can be devastating. There are numerous heated outflows in out fisheries that make for some outstanding fishing. I’d want to know the details. It’s not to comforting with what Les pointed out with where this is originating from. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

I’m not sure what the temp difference is from when it was in operation with coal in the 80’s and 90’s but I will tell you it was a fisherman’s paradise both in the stream and the mouth into the lake during fall, winter, spring. The days when there were 100’s of boats fishing off the mouth was an insane sight. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
Here’s what’s in the regs: key is that your targeting fish during closed season Closed season restriction A person may not fish for a species (even if immediately released) during the closed season for that species on a given water. Fish caught during the closed season must be unhooked and released immediately. They may not be handled for any other purpose. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Genny 3/21 shakedown
Frogger posted a topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Well, I had a day I could get her out seeing she’s been cooped up in the garage since last August. Hooked up with RB and made a go of it. Appreciate all of the posts to help decide on a launch that would work out with out losing my wheels off a ramp. Been there done that. Typical shakedown stuff but we headed out not really knowing what to expect. Mud. Ugg. So we went east for a bit and thought let’s turn and go back West. Ever feel like you made the biggest mistake of the day? Went west of the river for a couple of miles and still mud inside. Call a life line, good ole Whaler made me feel a little better. So we picked up ran west to Braddocks. Started seeing a break. All in all was a nice day to get out. Good times. Wish we went east lol. Think we saw three boats west of the river. Boy is the lake low.... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
