  1. I guess what I was thinking was using your FH on the other downrigger not the bottom track downrigger. That way your offset would be spot on to the actual swing your seeing due to the speed. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Just wondering, if you had the fish hawk 4xd to set your depth offset so you would be as accurate as could be with actual ball depth? Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  3. Anyone looking to get into Fingerlakes fishing or stock up for the Seneca return would want these. This is a great deal Rod Hog. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  4. You can also try fatheads with a high hook and sinker and cast to off the drop off and reel slowly up it, may get into some nice perch. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

  13. Use a curtain clip on a string tied to the gunnel, when your ready to put a release on just pull the string to you and grab the mainline. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. If the two ramps were used (1) in and (1) out with everyone being able to get to the ramp and not be blocked things would drastically help at times. Some have their minds made up though. I just praise the lord I have bunks and can load it up and go. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Sometimes you wish you could pull up a chair and watch the circus. Most troubled times for me are when boaters coming in are either taking over both ramps not allowing anyone to come out or boaters waiting in line are taking up the rd so you can’t get to the ramp to pull boat out. If that road was a little wider that would help a little. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  17. Have a couple used for deep trolling (30 size) and a couple on the down rigger set ups (20 size). So far so good. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  18. Never knew they had outdoor knives. Looked them up and they also have a deer knife exactly like my buck 110 version. Might just have to pick out a couple. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  19. Green, I would think distance is not an issue when your stealth from using a kayak. It’s more from the motor noise spooking them. As far as spring like sk8man said, shallows are deadly when the bait moves in but you still will find the Lakers deep as well. I’d say you have a better chance at the variety of target fish hitting the shallows while your paddling. Sounds fun. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

  24. Zinger, I’m thinking if you focused on making sure that you don’t have electrical leakage from your boat and wire up the downrigger to allow the PIC to work as it should you would be that far in a better place. I had found serious leakage from my boat with grounding doing a check with the batteries. Does the black box help? No idea. There’s a lot of evidence on this electrical theory though. I do think though if you start catching fish on all your junk rods and less on your downriggers you might have something going on. That’s what happened to me. Hope it helps.
