  4. I had tite locks. I remplaced them with Berts Adjustable rod holders. I love them.. Well, havent used them yet but will this weekend!
  5. Ok, well, just got the call from my mechanic. I had one cylendar without much if any spark..fixed that. then I had some switch and other wiring that was arching..fixed that. then added a pressure relief valve to the tank..fixed that..$436 later it runs good..urgh
  6. so is that a fish to throw back no matter what or can you consume it? I would most likely throw it back
  7. yup, you be right, 1000' of wireline fits my 30class real perfect
  8. I have run 5 color lead cores on the walleye boards...I have the offshore angler boards
  9. So if the kings do not cooperate this weekend, where should I target for some browns. My son will want to catch something as will the rest of us! Also, what should be the presentation for them..i.e. lures etc thanks!
  10. based on that description, they are probably running Otter boats. You can run lead core line off of a planer board.
  11. I hve fished Lake Simon which connects to Tubber Lake thru the ice. They have a big northern ice fishing tourney there every winter. it is a huge tourney. Once in awhile you will get a decent northern. what I consider to be a decent northern is mid to upper 30" class. I have never heard of a 40"+ northern coming out of there though.
  12. I just spoke to the Mercury mechanic when I dropped off my 9.9 and the tank. After explaining what was going on, she said well, the first thing is the tank you are using. Its a small 4 gallon EPA certified tank. She said that these tanks do not relieve pressure until it hits 5lbs inside. She said it forces too much fuel into the engine therefore flooding the engine. She siad the first thing she is gonna do is install a pressure relief valve in the tank!
  13. Never fished that area. If you send me your email, I can email you picks of the Northerns i have cought in the GSL.
  14. good to hear. I am running 30lb big game right to the dipsey and then wireline to the dipsey to
  15. I have a canon pinch pad release for my fixed slider
  16. You have come a long way judging by your equipment list in your post!
  17. That makes 2 blue and white islanders then! I don't have a name for my boat..yet... If you try calling me, I will be on 68 probably. Just use my forum name, adk1
  18. Ok, think I am gonna add a fixed slider on one of my riggers with a spoon. maybe 15' above the FF combo at the bottom.
  19. that is great advice right there. thanks. why would you use a slider on a downrigger already? Maybe I just don't understand what that term is. IS this the second spoon that you basically connect to the mono of the line that you have connected to the downrigger weight with a swivel and like 10' of line out and just let it run down the mono until it hits the belly of the line that is caused my the drag on the line?
  20. I fish adk lakes particularly the Great Sacandaga and Sacandaga Lake. I run all rapalas. the GSL I run both Jointed and stick rapalas..silver and black are the main colors. Sometimes I will throw in a perch mix or blue and silver. For the Sacandaga Lake where I catch much bigger walleye but not as many I run black and gold with a perch mixed in. I was running black and silver on Sacandaga Lake like I do on the Great Sacandaga and nothing. switched to black and gold and ended up with 5 walleyes all over 22'. biggest being 28". Catch them on downriggers and lead core.
  21. I hope so, but my old eagle isn't that sophisticated!
  22. yeah, I don't think that my 55qt 35" long cooler is gonna work out!
  23. nice to hear!
