Dual rod holders on the booms, free sliders and the longest mounting tracks you can get will definitely help your cause. Another suggestion if you're limiting the holes you put in the boat to mount I would(if possible) use a mounting board across the transom. Instead of mounting your downrigger bases mount pedestals then mount a mounting board which can be aluminum or wood to the pedestals and then mount your downriggers to it. You can mount more downriggers or rod holders in the future by just mounting to the board. Good luck

Just came back. Fished Oswego wed from 11:30-2:30 before being pushed off by storms, ice water top to bottom out to 350fow. Fished from Catfish to past plant on thur from 30 to 100fow, surface temp steady 50. Picked up small steely, brown, Atlantic and a decent laker and dropped one. All fish down 20 on red spoons.

According to the charts 65 braid is equivalent in size to 16 lb mono. The reel says it holds 520 yds of 20 lb mono so given that 16 is less than 20 and you have 300 yds of braid going on I would say almost 300 yds of 20 lb mono for backing

I had the same problem last year. After the kicker running fine the first few trips it decided to act up as yours is. I had the same problem Pap suggested in that the screen was plugged. A good cleaning and an inline filter installed and knock on wood ran great after that.

I've fished on this boat both on the big lake for salmon and the Hudson River for stripers. Trailers great and handles the big water just as well. Great fishing boat, someone will not be disappointed buying this.

I live right on the river in the Kingston area. Usually around 52-54 degrees water temp and the fish are around with the peak time being Mother's Day weekend. We fish mainly live herring like mentioned with slip sinkers on main line and a leader set up. Once the spawn starts, you will know when because they start swirling/bulling on top, we found you have to troll as bait doesn't work well then. Troll the deeper water on the channel edge. There are some nice fish to be had and it's a blast. Turkey's early morning and stripers the rest of the day. Good luck!

Vetting I may be wrong but I believe Eppinger always made Daredevil, Evil Eye and Red Eyes. Stores still have them. I Ike to run them as sliders, work very well for that.

For the money I don't think you can beat the Shimano TDR's. Never had a problem. I run all 8' off the riggers.

Ray I don't know how bad it is but I glued and clamped mine with a good carpenters wood glue that can be obtained at any lumber yard or hardware store. Still holding on, good luck.

I agree with Dave, have it welded and add a "skid plate". The xtra won't make a difference in weight and any good welder will do it easily. I myself have welded aluminum boats with Mig Welding and have had no problems.

I would agree with Cabelas. I've had a pair of boot foot neoprenes for 10 years that I hunt and fish with, knock on wood no problems and as was said if there are problems they take them back no questions

I would agree with Spoonfed. Mine is hooked to the battery but there is a ground already from the neg terminal to the engine block.
