Great report rolmops. Great results, especially for no electronics. I was there last week and did some trolling for trout on a few days. I never got out early for the prime time and caught just 1 laker. Unfortunately I found the fleas to be pretty heavy. One day we went for perch and did well. Great fish dinner. I was trolling spoons for trout in the 40 to 50 foot range on dipseys. Glad you did well. We're you using spoons? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I am impressed with the role that the male bass plays in protecting the nest. I knew that but seeing it so vividly in action is great. There is a lot of politics in the setting of Fish and Game laws unfortunately. Look at the whole issue of "antler restrictions" for a classic example of the politicians trying to over ride the DEC and force a law on the general population. Bass fishing is big business and has a huge lobby of organizations and businesses behind them to drive laws like catch and release. I do not know the history of the regulation change but after seeing this video I certainly smell something and it is coming from down by Albany. This video should be used as argument #1 in repealing C&R regs.

Congratulations cdq on the successful egg hatch and to all of the students who participated in this class!! Hopefully this class can become an annual event that builds on the learning from this year and supplements future walleye stocking. I wonder what the fry survival rate will be for those you released?

Thanks Lucky13. I will hope they are reproducing. Honeoye gets no natural production which triggered my question on Conesus. If the pike are successful you would think that eyes should be. All fish are unique in some ways. Maybe I will ask someone at region 8 sometime. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Was wondering if the eyes that run up the inlet are actually reproducing or are they just going through their instinctive spawning run without any results? Anyone know if the yield any offspring. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Hi Esox AC3, I was puzzled by the same empty stomach observation this summer. An SLR eye, 2 big smallie and a 10 pound northern (finger lakes) all had completely empty digestive tracts. All healthy fish. I think they can go quite a long time without eating. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Planning to be at Owasco for a week beginning 8/13 with the family... what depth range would you guys recommend trolling to try and pick up a rainbow? I have dipsy divers size 1 and am new to using them. I will be fishing the north end most of the time down to Burtis or a little further. Any particular lures working well? Thanks guys.
