Does anyone know what is the weight limit of the transom on a 1989 Sea Nymph GLS195?

I already replaced the plywood decks with Aluminum diamond plate.

Currently it has a 1989 Mercury 100hp 2 cycle engine. The horsepower rating on the boat is  listed as 140hp.

I had one for several years that I put a 90 four stroke on, no issue.   But I also had the transom rebuilt because it was shot.  Have a 191-CC project now that will eventually go the same route.    Have no concerns as long as the transom is good and not rotten.

Hard to say as transoms were always rated for HP, not weight. Originally maxxed for a 140hp 2 stroke Johnson. I think they weighed around 340lbs. Your diamond plate floor effects your hull capacity more than transom.

I just did quick search of all manufacturers in 1989 that made a 140 hp motors and they all averaged at about 400lbs in weight. If you have a new transom I would say structurally it’s rated for 400 lbs.

I have a 1992 GLS195. It has a 90hp Johnson and a 9.9 Yamaha kicker. on it. No issues at all. Enjoy the boat!
