When I came to fish camp on July 8th I really thought this would be the best chance to catch a 30 lb king that I have had in the last 5 yearss given the slow bite in May, June and part of July due to the massive alewive die off allowing easily obtained forage for the predator species. At around 10 am yesterday we had a wire rod fire with a FF down 70’. The king weighed in at 31.2 lbs with a 26” girth and 40.5” long.

My buddy Matt, a Maine lobsterman was on the rod.
