That is all true, but you ignored one little fact:

New York City contributed 54.5 percent, or $68.8 billion, of state revenues whereas the rest of the state contributed 45 percent, or $57.5 billion. 

So even after Hochul gave the city 8 Billion, the city still contributed 3.1 billion dollars more than it received back

Reality shows that NYC supports the rest of NYS  and not the other way around, and yes I too wish that NYC would keep its garbage. But you know how it goes. A few very big upstate companies offered to accept the garbage and they gave the rest of us upstate’s all the foul smell while they moved out of the state so as not to have to pay taxes.

As for my politics, I think of myself as an independent with a social conscience.

Kathy sent 8 billion to NYC . That's really all you need to know about how things are going now  . It was a bailout . To keep them solvent . That's the reality . Use to be upstate benefited from downstate but not anymore . Wealthy people and business are leaving the state . And Kathy is begging them to come back because she needs their money . 

 

And what will happen when Wall st relocates  ? Which they have done partially . And all that taxable money leaves . There are more Gov employees in NY than there are in Moscow . Guess who pays them .

What unites us is politicians that work for the people.  We don't have that anymore.  We need term limits and people that care about the people and not getting rich.

I fully agree with you although I have a bit of a problem with the idea that politicians work at all. It has always been my feeling that they make us work while they mostly talk and live of the fruits of our labor.
