  2. You can probably leave them on the sides w/o a problem. Some guys leave them out and in the rod holders. I figure "out of sight out of mind" so I put them away. You shouldn't have any problem - lots of tournaments use the marina so fair number of transients. Most guys throw a towel over their electronics. If you're there for a weekend should be people around too. I'm on C Dock so see if I'm around.
  3. Thank you for the info I don't have the ability to lock my boat though. It's a 21 ft crestliner Commander. I got rod storage on the sides but it doesn't lock. I would hate to have to bring all the rods to the truck every night. Thank you
  4. Today
  5. Pair rod holders used like new $50 shipped lower 48
  6. Thanks but NO thanks... I was warned that you are a scam.
  7. Well, that didn’t work right trying to send you a PM thanks
  8. Wondering how old these are and whereabouts you live I’m up by Lake George interested?
  9. On the question of security at Chadwick Bay Marina in Dunkirk, I’ve not had issues in the 8 years I’ve been there. I keep boat locked and don’t leave rods out. They just changed to keypads this year. Cleaning station is convenient. Fishing has been “lights out” again this year with the natives and with migratory fish starting to show up will be more fish around.
  10. Went straight out of Irondequoit Bay started in 80 ft of water riggers set at 40 and 60 trolled out to 150 ft nothing water temperature 54 to 55°, went 5 miles east in about 140 ft of water between 130 and 140 ft of water found temps about 47 48° went 5 for 6 all teenagers except for one slob lake trout 34 in as big around as a 5 gallon bucket old fat boy. All fish came on the same lure pictured and all came at 110 to 115 ft down over 130 to 140 ft.

  12. The WM in Watertown is closing too i bought many items from that store and the Manager , Ted was the best Their prices and shipping policy were their demise a large company like WM was surely able to buy in quantities large enough to get a large discount, yet their prices remained much higher than most retail outlets. I will miss them
  13. The award winning videos on the Great Lakes made in Canada a few years ago has been made public for free in the US. Great information. and stunning underwater video work. 14. New in package Cannon retro-ease weight retriever $10 local pick up in Watertown area shipping not available
  15. It never should have stayed this long. My last purchase from them was my Xi5 for a ridiculous low price. Unfortunately during transport, it was stolen off their truck at the Watertown Store. Rob made it right and got me another but it took forever. It was also during the plague, so everything was in short supply. Prior to West Marine, we had Boat U.S. on Petten St and Rob was the manager, there. Much better location and always busy. WM bought them out and moved the employees up to E Ridge Rd. Made no sense!
  16. Ill take a set if you still have them
  17. Niagara St in Buffalo is staying open.
  18. Still for sale?
  19. The VHS epidemic in the late 90’s put a huge bottle neck in the cut bait market I used Rhys-Davis cut bait for years ( $4.95 for 6 pennants ) there has never been another cut bait that comes close to that product I bought and used Rigged SFC bait and found it usable and the best value out there most of the cut bait I’ve tried over the years is soft , doesn’t fit the bait heads without trimming , and definitely not top quality times change and not always for the better I’ve used the cut plugs with mixed success. Tried soaking the included sponge in sardine oil , but found stuffing the compartment with either cut bait pieces or canned sardines worked the best Some days they work
  20. Kingston, Pa or Kingston, Ontario?
  21. I have a pair of cannon optimum down riggers. No real boat scratches or or dents & dings 1600 for the pair, one has a screen with some dead pixels shown in the pics, but everything works great. Gimbals swivel bases and covers are already spoken for this is for just the pair of optimums, power cables, rod holders and hand cranks, cannon bases. Priced to sell. I have the transducer also for an extra 50
  22. Bill's Hooks is close to Dunkirk right on route 5 like 4 miles away.
  23. Cut bait prices are up due to the Herring regulations. The herring fishing industry has been regulated tighter the last couple of years causing a supply issue. Supply is down, demand is up so the prices are up.
  24. If it helps anyone coming from a new person, 6/17 evenings from rochester headed west marks on the bottom in 80-130ft of water, dead screen for a few hours between 130-160 fow had a nice king hit a black and green spoon on a dipsy 50ft down in 170 fow and the leader snapped as he was about to be netted only one of the evening
  25. I'll look into that. Sounds like good options. Thanks for the heads up.
  26. Yesterday
  27. Where is it?
  28. I and a few other captains/anglers I know have moved to cut plugs, most commonly Brads Superbaits, for that very reason. We tend to all have our own brine/salt method but a tin of young sardines (~$2.99), from any grocery store, fits the cut plug reservoir well. Just some food for thought if considering alternative options.
