  2. Struggle bus for walleye this morning. We were in search mode all day. We tried a couple of inshore structures with no walleyes. Plenty of nice smallmouth and big sheep but not what we were looking for. Stickbait program scrapped, Rack and stack to plan C - offshore shoal. Worm harness on bottom bouncers, riggers and snap weight lines. We managed 4 walleye and three jumbo perch for the box BUT way too many sheep to cycle through. Most of the boats ran towards Dunkirk and worked the 65’ band or deeper. Today was a good day for total biomass but a challenging day to create fish fry memories.

  9. Launched about 6 and had lines in by 6:30 straight out front in 100 for. Headed straight north. Started marking fish and a little bait about 200. Had to misses on the low rigger with carbon 14. Cranked up the release and really loaded the rod after that. Took a 5 pound king right after turning back south. Back into 120 then back north again. Nothing but fleas. Changed up a few things and turned back south again. Tangled both the low driver's on that turn but got lucky the wire was fine. Saw a mark and just stated saying something when the port low diver got hammered. Was working that and the starboard rigger went. Dad grabbed that and started brining it in. The wire had a 18 pound king on. The rigger was a 5 pound choho. Ended up 3 for 6 and had to head back in to set up for my daughter's 4th birthday party. 14. Went out to try to get on the board in June as I do most of my Muskie fishing in the fall. Well about half hour into my jigging pass I nailed a nice 37 inch fish. Hit on the bottom of the jig stroke and it felt like the thump of a crappie or sunfish hitting a hair jig. It was so confusing that it took me a second to realize what was happening and then I ripped into the fish. He came up and did three full jumps out of the water! It was an exciting fight and I was lucky to land him. After some quick pics and a bump he was off swimming strong! Only action for the day, but it was a solid outing!
  15. Got out for a few hours with my old man (87 yrs old.) Good bite infront of the creek 180-220 fow 90-100 on the riggers. 250 on divers. Bunt bread was the winner with Carbon a couple bites less. Caught everything but a brown and a laker. At least 20 bites. Lost a few with a few skippers in the mix. Kept a few for some coworkers.
  16. For over 40 years my wife and I have fished together on opening day of bass season. We caught some quality fish on a cool windy morning. Used senkos in 5-7 fow. I generally release bass except when she goes with me.

  18. I am hearing some decent fish 65’ off the Catt today with lots of bait around. A Barcelona boat is reporting a grind bite with lots of shorts to wade through. Anyone got a decent pattern working? I will be out to enjoy Father’s Day tomorrow.
