  1. Past hour
  2. Yes! White bass yummy, white perch yuck...
  3. Today
  4. We’re the two guys USDA or USFWS. They’re both Feds but I believe Fish & Wildlife controls migratory birds. Either way good to hear
  5. We were on Erie today, and the complete lack of wind made the bugs atrocious!
  6. Got to admit, it's impossible to argue effectively with someone who thinks that they have all the answers and that anybody who says differently is lying to them. And when you admit that you could be wrong, they use it as ammunition to claim that you've never been right. So much for intellectual humility. But hey, different strokes and all. Meliora.
  7. There are two marinas on Braddocks. Westpoint and Manitou Beach. Westpoint would probably be the easiest.
  8. I am renting an Airbnb at bucks pond braddocks Bay area, I have a penn yan 255 intruder and want to know what Marina would be good for a transient slip for next weekend? Would prefer west of if you think the salmon fishing would be better that way. Thanks for any help
  9. Garmin GT52HW-TM. Came with head unit. Needs mounting hardware $190
  10. 16# torpedoes $50 each. Located in Buffalo, at the Oak most weekends
  11. Fish when you can and make the most of it! It’s was a slow struggle today. Lots of bait and marks east of sandy to watoma bouy in 70-100 fow. Also some nice screens in 140 fow NE of the bouy. But few takers ended with 2 lakers, 2 small kings and a small Atlantic. no patterns. Diver, 300 steel, rigger. We threw everything at them. I will admit we dragged bottom with cowbells for 1 of the lakers Also donated lots of skin to the biting flies!
  12. I have told people this. Taste just like walleye, perch, crappie, bluegill. All very mild tasting fish
  13. Yesterday
  14. fishing net for salmon or Strippers. $40 OBO
  15. We fished out of Bear Creek today,we heard gunfire out there.Inside was slow fishing for us also.We slid out to 330fow.we found a break and picked away at steelhead top 40fow
  16. Well just in case then lol. 240 pounds last Friday and Sunday. Saturday was a blow off day. Both days boxed by 9:30 am, 12 fish boxes. Be nice to see folks that want them, get them. Tons of tournament folks would be happy to give them away.
  17. Easy now. Don't give them away before you catch them.
  18. I'm from up around Ogdensburg on The River. We have watched helplessly as these things have one by one, completely destroyed entire islands. The Three Sisters out in front of Brockville smell so bad now that it's worth plotting a course around them if possible. And there's no denying the toll they have taken on fish. These birds can dive up to 30 down giving them the opportunity to decimate fry populations after hatches. And try to find a perch these days! I hope the DEC someday gets their head out of their ^#% and gives us a chance to make a fair fight out of it. Right now, we're losing big.
  19. BTW, for inquiring minds, I kept a large silver bass this weekend and ate it next to walleye and could not tell the difference. Tastes exactly the same.
  20. Will be fishing the tournament at the Oak this weekend. If anyone wants whole, cold fish and can come get them late afternoons Friday through Sunday shoot me a PM.
  21. I was out from 6:30 to 7:30 with my jigging rod. Looked from 60 to 180 and didn’t see any hooks or bait.
  22. When you come into Olcott harbor downwind of the rock pile that protects the harbor from north winds the stench is incredible.
  23. First of all congrats on your results! yes Pete D'Urso the owner and maker of Elmer Hinckley spoons fished with me again this year and those spoons were on fire for everyone and especially the 22's, 777's 88's and 35's. They are the best spoons I have ever used in over 70 years of fishing. For the last couple years or more they are all I use despite having thousands of spoons collected over these many years. Like most folks I too have been guilty of selecting eye candy that appeals to humans but who knows what the fish think of them I was a die hard Sutton guy for years on the Fingers but after experiencing the EH's I have total faith in them. The results of many folks that contacted us during the derby reinforced this. I am convinced that the current plating and action of these spoons that were initially designed and developed in the late 1800's right here on Canandaigua Lake by a contemporary of Scott Sutton both of whom lived in Naples, N.Y. are perfect for this environment. Pete has taken them to a new level as these spoons are not automated on a production line they are hand made and assembled by him. The hammering can be adjusted to be lighter or deeper too. My fishing buddy Bob and I have used them on Lake O with wonderful results on multi trout and salmon species too. They held up without any problems. Many of the painted spoons out there are using standard blanks with much heavier appearance and function in the water. Again, the "eye candy" human attraction is paramount with them in my opinion. These flutter spoons show up way in back of the boat, and the action much more resembles a wounded bait me to me anyway. Some of the current users of EH's are probably a little irked at me for even mentioning them here as they probably consider them as "secret weapons" but when I find things work I enjoy sharing the info here in furtherance of the sport.. MEATMAN your LOU handle is vaguely familiar but if you send me a PM with your name and maybe a little info about where it was Im pretty sure I will remember you. Thanks for letting me know about your results with the EH's. The wind was our main enemy in this derby and I congratulate the winners for their persistence. Unfortunately, we were unable get get anything over 8 lbs.
  24. Get'm all and move on to the geese!
