  6. I'm fairly new to LOU so please forgive me if any of my questions have been discussed many times in other threads. Please feel free to link helpful threads if that's easier. I know migration varies from year to year due to food, weather, and water temps, etc. so I'm just looking for averages based on any ones personal experiences. When mature kings start their spawn migration, what time of year do you normally find them in 50-120 feet of water. At that point will they still be actively feeding in 50ft or at what point do they start to shut down as they begin the staging transition?
  7. I have 6 of them. They dont bother me....but its a personal opinion thing
  8. I have the current line counters and have a chance to pick up a couple older ones to use for wire. Is the position of the line counter that big of an issue? I love mu silver non counters. I use the more current version for braid divers. Appreciate it.
  9. i typically fished alone and ran total length dipsy to fly length of rod for netting purpose flasher to fly varied from 18" to 32" depending on the bite
  10. Dipsey to flasher - length of rod flasher to fly - 24”

  15. Do I need a special charger for lithium?
  16. I think you already got you Fathers Day Present you’ll have a tough time beating that one Great story all the best
  17. My downriggers came with dubro release, just a beefier blacks, so going to roll with those and use rubber bands when using my lighter spoon rods,
  18. If there was a contest for best LOU Post of the year this would be the easy winner. Great story and pictures. The Dad/Son side by side double is the best. Keep a copy and try to replicate it each birthday! Congratulations Dad and pass on a Happy Birthday to your son!!
  19. Thank you for posting the pictures Yankee Troller, very helpful.
  20. OK but does anyone have concerns about the release fraying the line, be it mono or braid? I use the Scotty release and understood that one should always wrap their line with rubber bands to prevent this. Hearing from others on this would be really interesting. Or is this overkill on my part!
  21. I run sliding dipsys. Can run short or long.
  22. Everyone thinks longer is better and sometimes that's the case. Shorter leaders give your presentation a tighter roll and kick and there are days where short leaders off your divers get smoked. Generally speaking a 10-12' leader is a good place to start.
