  2. Interested in all 3 items…downriggers…Bert’s rod holders…trolling motor..package deal …$1100.00…p/m if interested
  3. I do have a depth raider. Speed I was keeping around 2.4-2.8. I had my depth raider down in the low 40's for temp
  4. That does definitely help hearing that the fishing did taper off and it was more challenging for everyone. I definitely do have to work on reaching out more often and being more open to communicating. I'm a huge introvert.
  5. Sorry folks, I'm an idiot! I put the wrong date in the title. It was the 11th.
  6. Thanks for the input I have been running 2 riggers and 4 divers. Aside from Lakers I can't seem to get anythingto bite the riggers at all. I was running all spoons except one meat rig. Mostly running 2.4-2.8 on the depth raider.
  7. Agreed with everything you said about the evolving bite this May. I believe we are now in the June phase early as suggested. Inside waters same temps top to bottom and green water offshore for fish to spread out in (all the way to Canadian line).
  8. Used in very good condition....Minn Kota Power Drive PD 74-pound 24 volt bow mount trolling motor with Battery Life Extender Maximizer system. Foot pedal control with 18' cable. Asking $435 I'm in Erie, PA will drive part way to meet up if interested.View the full article
  9. My buddy and I launched out of SBH late Friday afternoon. Tinkered around for a couple hours then setup for the nearshore {troll} Walleye night bite. Started at dark Had my 6 by 10;45. We boated 15 by 12 and called it a night. The Aurora Borealis was awesome but the fishing was better !
  10. No he had an older starcraft alluminum boat.
  11. I'm looking for some older Daiwa Saltist 20's with line counters in the old style not the new. If anyone has any for sale, let me know.
  12. Being consistent in the trout and salmon game, you need to pay attention to details. Some days those details are very minor but make a world of difference. Take Gator's advise! There are a lot of guys on this site that are willing to help in one way or another! Do you have a speed and temp unit on your boat? IMO, speed and temp units are worth their weight on gold! Last week, small temp breaks were holding fish. If we saw a small temp break, we worked the area and it put a lot of fish in the boat. If you just want to catch fish, laker fishing is a great way to put fish in the boat to keep the kids entertained. They also offer better fishing mid day than the other species.
  13. Today
  14. The DEC stocked browns a couple weeks ago by my work. For over a week, cormorants were pounding the area. Not good!
  15. I think I remember him, did he have the center console boat with the rainbow trout painted on the side?
  16. I fished them Saturday and caught a lot of browns. We just couldn't crack 10lbs. Saturday was the first day the inside waters looked good off Sandy for the entire derby. Good king bite definitely attributed to less brown fishing. I didn't see a boat fishing browns in the 4 days I fished in the derby. Last year like this year was a warmer than normal winter and two years in a row the brown fishing was not normal during the LOC. Hmm. On a good note, the browns I cut on Saturday, they were loaded with gobies and 3-4" alewife.
  17. Just goes to show you what people really want to fish for, and what species brings in the money. Everything else takes a back seat!
  18. Suggest you take a second look at a smallmouth charter. Visit the Come Fish Lake Erie website and select bass charters from Small Boat Harbor in Buffalo. That interactive site lets you choose species and port then gives you a list of captains with links to their websites. These are all licensed captains and contact several and discuss your needs. Sorry you had a bad experience your 1st go around but I’m sure you can find someone to shorten your learning curve.
  19. Wondering how the northerns have been hitting so far? Will be up next week spinning for them and chasing the walleyes around from chippewa to cedar. Water levels good?
  20. I fished em most of the winter and Spring.... They are around... They happen to be smaller. The reason for that is ( my theory) is we are missing at least one year class. Year COVID... I remember getting a call from a lady who said she had a bunch of dead fish washed up on her beach in Greece and asked if I could come look at them. There were 100s of dead fingerling browns. Two days prior the DEC stocked them. How the fish Died is anyone's guess, however the lake had dropped 5 degrees in a day and the DEC was in a rush to stock due to government agencies closing down. As far as catching.... Browns have adapted to the round Goby as everyone knows.. in areas where the alewife spawn hasn't started yet, they are still munching on those gobies. I caught a bunch of Browns in the Spring LOC, most were puking up Gobies. All the browns we caught were released ( no stomach checks) except one ....and she had a big gobie in her gut. The size thing is a head scratcher.... But my feeling is, this will turn around as there are still nice classes of fish out there.
  21. Wife dropped me off at Mexico and trolled to oswego on Saturday. Good marks just east of Oswego at 180 foot in front of plant. Caught 5 salmon and a couple browns solo. Including a nice Atlantic maybe 23 inches long that I threw back. Picked my wife up and went back out. Special thanks to the guys that help me load my boat when the storm was rolling around, sorry I was stressed but my wife was yelling at me when she saw the spider lightning off in the distance...she pulled the throttle and I almost went off the back of the boat before we came in.
  22. I don't think most guys are fishing for them . Use to be a lot of guys trolling close with boards . Everyone wants Salmon. And that's what they are set up for. . We trolled out front yesterday in 40 o 60 ft looking for them Boated 15 Lakers , no browns
  23. Fishing continues to be great on the Ontario shoreline. Water warming, and bait showing. Smallmouth starting to bite like crazy. Couple trips from last week with my sons. Both nights started slow but developed through the night. Glass calm conditions didn't help, but biting bass fulfilled the lull. Few browns around still, recent rain should color up the shoreline and help it. Tight lines
  24. Spent my summers in the camp ground behind Kidders market. My grandfather helped establish the camp ground with the Havlans. In 1985 I would have been about 6. Unfortunately I don't remember you but I do remember Bunny and maybe your grandmother. My last name is Miner. The docks down near the cottages had my grandfather's old boat hoist on it the remnants of his spot was there until the new owners re-did the dock
  25. I'll open up my case and start this show. What's up with the browns or lack thereof during the LOC this year? I was shocked looking at the final leaderboard. Only four fish weighed in (congrats to Jeff W on a helluva fish), one of them barely eligible at ten pounds even, and none of them coming from Oswego - which is usually a gimme. I can think of a bunch of potential reasons, but I want to hear what others think.
