  3. Honestly, I was doing other things whenmy fishing partner at the time tested it out after we stuck bellows in, changed water pump. Problem was he didn't check the out drive oil or something and top end went. I just called the guy who was in the boat when it blew and he said 20 to 25. If I could get 20 to 25 mph I would be happy. Might of been a prop seals that went bad. I can't remember exactly why it went.
  4. What was the speed before you changed the drive?
  5. I am selling a slightly used Penn 320 GT2. The reel was used as a 5 color leadcore reel and never saw a lot of use. $40.00 pick up in Hilton NY or shipped to the lower 48 for $50.00.
  6. Today
  7. This ol boy came in silent in Sunday mornings rain...91/2 " beard ...1" spurs....22 lbs
  8. Lots of lampreys in Mexico bay also, not quite as bad as few years ago,but not good
  9. Trying to figure out what my top speed for a 23' avenger with a 165 in should be. It won't go over 12 mph. Motors not struggling. Carb has been cleaned and rebuilt. The original out drive went bad. Old case got swapped out for a 3.7litre out drive, which is a 1.84 gear ratio and the 165 is also 1.84. Brand new prop on it so I assumed the hub wasn't spun out of it. I can do a compression test but I really don't think that's the issue. Maybe she's just slow? But shouldn't I be getting between 25 and 30 mph on a flat day wot? I know she's old but it's been a great boat together out of the sun and troll with I guess I should also mention it is a inline 6
  10. I have had 2 lamprey on 73 salmon so far this spring off Sandy Creek in Monroe County. Nothing like a couple years ago!
  11. The current bait biomass is way up compared to 2014-2019. King size is down compared to that same time period. The low teen kings you are catching are more than likely 2 year olds.
  12. It sounds like the fishing has been great along the whole South shore. We have fished out of Oswego 4 times now and it has been great. The only down side has been the number of lampreys on the fish. About 1 in 6 fish have had eels on them. All the fish carry scars from past encounters. Had a 5 pound brown the other day with 2 on it. Is this happening along the whole South shore or is it a Oswego thing.
  13. Well , it ain't nothing like it use to be 20 + years ago . And we are way better at catching them . And average size is not bigger . There is not nearly the amount of alwives in the lake like there was back then also . Can't deny that . Are these low to mid teens kings we are catching small 3 year olds ? I'd like to know that also .
  14. Electric downriggers dual rodholders weight and releases $300 per pair (2)
  15. The data speaks for itself. This data looks at the 10th place Salmon in each derby. Spring of 2021 was an anomaly, but we're pretty much on par the Spring weights for the derby. It's the Fall weights that seem to be falling off. MEDIAN Fall Summer Spring 2024 22.00 2023 27.05 26.02 21.10 2022 27.15 27.00 22.10 2021 29.03 28.04 24.10 2020 28.04 28.06 COVID 2019 29.12 27.15 21.01 2018 No Data 25.12 No Data 2017 30.08 27.09 21.11 2016 32.01 28.11 21.11 2015 29.02 25.15 20.12 2014 30.04 27.04 21.04 2013 33.04 32.01 26.00 2012 32.09 31.07 27.04 2011 32.04 29.00 23.14 2010 34.06 No Data No Data 2009 31.15 26.02 No Data 2005 30.01 No Data No Data Average 30.26 27.63 22.49
  16. There were some good kings caught before the derby. I saw a 26 and a 25 on Facebook. The Saint Catherines Fish and Game club derby has a 25 and change leading. We boated a 20.8 yesterday out of Sandy. The Baitfish biomass being low excuse being the reason for the smaller kings is complete BS. Seeing that the bait biomass is up, king size should be up and that is not the case at all. I would love to see the chart from the hatchery showing the percentage of age of each year class that made it to the hatchery last fall. I would be willing to bet, a ton of two year olds spawned last year.
  17. Chukars are 3 weeks old now and I have a dozen fully mature birds left.
  18. There is a live cam in the MAPS tab at the top of this page.
  19. We were wondering how the kings weight would be this spring . I guess we now know . But there sure are a lot of them
  20. Windfinder app for the forecast and then I'll check the weather buoys for real time info. NDBC - Station 45012 Recent Data (noaa.gov)
