7 days boys! I'm gonna be honest and tell you that this is going to be VERY addicting and exciting! The functionality we have put into this project is SICK! It's very hard to keep it on the hush.

I am sure you will do just fine! [ Post made via Mobile Device ] -
John, I'm sure you can get away with 500-600' of backing. We had a king almost spool our 500 copper last year at the Sodus Pro-Am. That has 300 yards of 50# PP. We thumbed him and the line ended up breaking. Those fish were viscous that week, but in that situation we needed that backing. As for the Saltist.....you can only get a max of about 350 on the 50 size. We have 50's for our 10 colors and our 300 coppers. If your looking for a 300 copper reel you cant go wrong. 400 copper and above look to the Tekota or the Penn. Those Saltist drags are VERY good! You will enjoy them, and the gear ratio will make copper fishing enjoyable.

1.8-2.2 have been working for us. However, if that's not working slow it down or speed it up.

4C's has great accommodations, and I know my customers that have stayed there really enjoyed it. The nice thing is that your boat can be slipped right there. Captains Cove has a nice motel that I have had my customers use too. -

Top dogs? Not even close! Trust me when I say I wont be there long! We are just having Tim at Krenzers do some work on the ol' lady. My dad was the mechanic! I never worried when he was on board. It's going to be a weird year without him. Tim is also putting in my new electronics. He was able to get a special thru hull transducer custom made for us that wont get damaged or ripped off from our trailer rollers. That was COOL!

I wonder where they get those simulator screen shots from?

Sorry for the delayed report boyz! You know how things in my life are going right now. Anyway, We were the first boat at the ramp, and the first boat in the water on Saturday morning and it was COLD! The mud from the Genesee River was running right down the shore. We motored to Shipbuilders and the water started to clear up, so we started to set lines. I went straight to the bright colored stickbaits. Rappy GFR's on the furthest and closest board lines and a Rebel Fastrak chartreuse with green diamonds between them. I just got done setting the rebel and FISH ON. It was a little BT and we thought that it was going to be a GREAT day! Well, we set the rest of the lines and we waited, and waited, and waited. The fish weren't cooperating and the water was cold. Most of what we found was 39 degrees. After an hour or so of nothing I started changing. I went to chartreuse on the furthest and closest board line and a silver black and orange on the middle. The silver/black too a short strike, and on the troll back West the chartreuse crystal minnow and the Rappy F9 in chartreuse took two more fish. 10 minutes before we picked up the inside Rappy F9 in chartreuse took another fish. Nothing was big (unlike last week). We boated 4 and lost one, and we were off the water by 11:30am. Best water we found was East of shipbuilders hitting 41 degrees. That dirty Genny water is probably why chartreuse was so good. The fish could actually see it. Here are some pics:

Rod, Nice idea, but I think your going to flatten those flies out. I had some from Tom in small Zip-Locks that ended up flattening. I like to keep mine stored the opposite of how they are run, so they are nice and puffy when i take them out. I think fly bodies are the hardest thing to keep organized and to store. I applaud your idea, but just tossing out what I can see happening. Tom likes to send bodies in rolled up post it notes and that seems to work nicely. You can toss them into a 3700 plano. The only issue there is you can max out each box at 12 colors. That means it would be easy to have 3-5 of these loose 3700 planos floating around. I'd be interested in seeing how your way works out for you. keep us posted.

Must of missed this message Chris. Yeah, it was with the clear ones only. Not sure why. The bottom plastic piece would crack right in half. -
