Yes. I have the West Marine version made by Sterns. They came with a solid plastic bobbin to replace the auto inflate bobbin that dissolves when it gets wet. The bobbins just screw in. I switch them out at home before heading out in the rain. I also had one deploy in storage on the boat... almost peed myself when it blew.. Here's a pic of the auto inflate bobbin. You can see the green disc through the clear plastic indicating the the unit is in auto deploy. The green disc dissolves instantly when it gets wet releasing a spring loaded pin that punctures the Co2 cartridge inflating the PFD. Remove that assembly and replace with the manual yellow bobbin and you can swim in it, pulling the cord for manual deployment. Hope this helps.

I installed a length of small chain on my board so i can change the tow position depending on speed and waves. I cut 2 small slots in the board, pushed a chain link in and secured with a galvanized finish nail from the top. The chain link with the twist tie on it was my last tow position.

It looks to me like all the upstream lakes are above their average depth for March. Should be plenty water coming our way. Ontario is the only lake below average.

Get a bag of frozen smelt from the supermarket. The largest King I ever caught (36 lbs.) was with a piece of bagged smelt stuffed into a Rhys Davis meat head.. Lakers will chomp the snot out of it.

Something will have to happen in short order at Braddocks. There are a lot of boat owners who have paid thousands to both marinas for docks and lake access.

I drove by last week, it looks like the new ramps aren't even in yet. West Point marina at Braddock bay is a mess right now too. You can't swing a dead cat down there without hitting 3 or 4 pieces of construction equipment.... looks like a new sea wall and who knows what else. I hope they finish up soon.

The rise I see here coincides with the extreme wind we had earlier in the week. This info. I believe is from Oswego, so the wind may have pushed the water up a bit there... it's showing a drop now.

The first early trips out of Braddocks Bay will interesting. Sand pushed back in the channel plus low water, plus any debris flushed out of the bay into the channel..... I think I'll put my waders in the boat the first few trips and be trimmed up and moving at idle speed. Better safe than sorry.
