  1. This boat is docked near me. Always runs good and loaded with tackle. Good deal so check her out.
  2. I ran 3 different trolling plates on an aluminum boat with a 90 hp Merc. Two of them sucked and one was great. The good one was an aluminum Happy Troller that was hinged and spring loaded in the middle of the plate itself. That prevented any damage if i forgot to put it up before I took off and it allowed me to kick up the rpms when I needed to straighten out the boat because of wind drift.\ It was deployed and raised via a pull cord. Biggest advantage was it allowed me to get my speed where I wanted even trolling with a strong wind. Prior to that I was always fishing into the wind to get my speed down and that really sucked. Biggest disadvantage was a significant increase in fuel consumption when I had to use it but as far as I am concerned it was worth it. I just raised it when docking or running so lack of control was not an issue. Good luck
  3. Congratulations!! You sure put in your time. Enjoy and good luck with the fishing.
  4. Head west. Turn right in Michigan.
  5. Some guys believe in it some don't. Personally I don't. I used to bust a friend of mines a$$ all the time years ago when he used to fish the big pond. I would call him in on my fish to help him out, he would show up with that black box going and shut my fish down every time. LOL. He was a firm believer it helped and he caught fish. I fished three different boats over the years and never had one and caught and catch plenty of fish. There is no substitute for hours on the water and knowing your targeted species.
  6. I'll take the 3 on the ugly sticks if they are the down rigger models Dennis I think 1100 series. See you this weekend.
  7. I'm not superstitious. Drink the booze and rename the freaking boat. Kinda like "Gotta Bite" as well
  8. You have to be at least 100 ft from shore to discard fish parts. That is the law.
  9. I'll take them. Where are you located?
  10. As long as you don't have clearance issues between the skeg and the ground, trim them sraight down vertically and you are good to go.
  11. 12V auto heater that plugs into a cigerett lighter is what I use. Works good but draws power.
  12. The answer is quite common. Common courtesy and common sense. If I'm out over deep water covering water looking for fish, I'm going to use as many feet of planner board line as I can. If I come in tight and work a shoreline with a dozen other boats, If I'm not smart enough or courteous enough to pull those boards in to a reasonable distance, I deserve to get chopped off. Same thing with fishing long coppers in traffic. You want to run um, your entirely responsible for keeping them out of peoples way and from getting cut off. Period. There isn't anybody on that lake special enough to take up that kind of real estate when other people are trying to fish the same water. Not that difficult.
  13. Chop one off. Simple.
  14. Hands down, Scottys. You won't need customer service.
  15. You could go with a Yammy 8 hp high thrust and that would be plenty of motor for that boat. A lot of guys have that motor on bigger glass boats. Should keep your batterys charged, as well as less weight.
  16. See.... Take it to Hank. The man knows his business
  17. Fascinating how some guys can't stand reading a post and still click on it.
  18. You are doing just fine in this discussion. Keep up the good work.
  19. Trade them in for Scottys Jim.
  20. Thanks. Good age to be involved in such issues. Are there creel limits on panfish?
  21. Curious as to how old these children are?
  22. How about the river up to Mikes?
