  1. I guess I am wondering that since these horrible creatures are dumb enough to attach to a boat, do they attach to human swimmers?
  2. PM sent
  3. Ah......Rick.....what were you doing out deep? Stay away from those funny marks out there as they are most definitely Burbot. Or at least wait until I catch the first king for 2021! I can't believe you are making me dewinterize my boat now......
  4. Ha! Looking at the time stamp he was was walking and texting probably. Hopefully he got a firm wet wedgie
  5. $3,000 reel and rod vs $6,000 Tuna. They made a business decision.
  6. Best episode ever. Hot Tuna doubles up. Both fish head in opposite directions. Fisherman at the front of the boat is about to get spooled so they tie a rope with a Polly anchor-ball around the reel and throw it overboard. After a battle they lose fish one near the boat so they fire the engines and chase down the rod floating in the water. They land fish #2. Unreal! I am going to put a small poly ball on my boat!
  7. At this point in my hunting career I have learned to enjoy the public land challenge but it ain’t for everyone!
  8. Well that sucks!
  9. Seems to me Rob you have enough good deer spots that you could start a NY guided deer business. Why go to Ohio?
  10. Fish are healthy this year! Good work boys!
  11. I was happy to see a fishing report! Nice going guys! Keep the reports coming!!
  12. rod action has less to do with your problem of losing fish early. More important is the tightness of the dipsy/downrigger release and drag setting.
  13. Get a vaccine series when available and then place your vaccine card in your wallet. If anyone gives you grief, whip it out and show them hehe.
  14. No worries with twilli
  15. I have a 225’ and 250’ weighted steel on saltist 50’s. If I want to go deeper I add a torpedo diver to the leader on an OR-16 release. I refuse to real In anything longer.
  16. If you are fishing the west end, you must learn to check the satellite image of the shoreline. Lots of variables ie. Ice flows, coffee brown water due to rain or wind, water that is too clear. Modis Lake Ontario query can get you to the Images if cloud cover allows.
  17. Is the new Traditions Nitro Fire system legal in NY (the bullet still needs to be loaded down the barrel). Can you order a muzzleloader by mail in NY since it is not considered a “firearm”?
  18. ?? Different year, still off topic...
  19. An easy way to spool wire on a reel if you don’t have a helper is to go to a school or farm field. 1000” is a LONG distance so make sure it is a big field. Walk off the entire spool of wire onto the ground. Attach a swivel to one end and clip on a fence or car bumper (if farm field). Attach other end to reel and rod. Tighten drag on reel. Put a good amount of tension on the loaded rod and reel the wire onto reel while slow walking back to the swivel end.
  20. Holy chit mon! Let Dan have his thread back lol!
  21. Poaching season.
  22. This is the time of the year with a spinning rod, Lake Trout are actually fun.
  23. Agree Rob. They issued so many doe permits for Onadaga County, the deer herd on county land above Lake Otisco has been almost wiped out in three years.
  24. I would say your experience was echoed. There was VERY little shooting heard during gun season. I suspect numbers will be down despite the increase in license sales. I will wait until the numbers are tallied before coming to a conclusion on whether deer numbers are down. Considering the mild winters we have had recently, numbers should have been up. I have buddies that sit all day that report only seeing a few deer the entire season.
