  1. I fish the Little Salmon River Challenge, mostly for the fun of fishing with my grandson and Mike and Beth do a great job of making sure the kids enjoy the day! Great people, food and fun, so if you wan't to try a tourney grab your kids and have a lot of fun!
  2. Sorry Guy's don't want to start a big argument here, but we can except nuclear power plants up and down the shores of Lake Ontario, but not wind turbines in our back yards? Make a lot of since to me SMH!
  3. Didn't pay much attention to the fish, the smile got me
  4. I have a 410/22 O/U single shot and I can't count how many rabbits I have killed with that over the years, my grandson uses it now
  5. I use the smaller ones in the late spring when the browns get out in 20' to 40' range on my flat lines off the big boards, and they work good for that. Not sure how they would work on the coppers though never tried it!
  6. I fish with just my wife and myself mostly, Bert's are the only way to go IMO she has no trouble getting the rod out to fight the fish with them. My old stationary ones not so much Dave
  7. Fished inside both Saturday 7:30am to 2pm in front of river from 15fow out to 35-40 back and forth marked fish and seen a good amount jumping around but only had one release all day. Talked with the DEC at the launch when we got back in and they said there was a few being caught early with j-plugs during the week. So Sunday morning hit the water at 6:30 am right in front of Selkirk 12-20 fow to just north of the river. Didn't have anything the first pass turn back south and put a 6" chrome dodger with 6' of 40lb line ahead of a bloody nose J-Plug no more than got it out 80' back and had a good king jumping and splashing all the way to the boat but as Shelby was trying to net it decided to one more good aerial display and off it came! sent it back out and few minutes later my 11 yr old granddaughter reeled in a nice 5# smallie, had two more kings on lost one as it tangled around the downrigger cable, and another lost on a break-off! Lost a bloody nose j-plug with one! Picked up around 11:30 and went for a little boat ride, lake and weather was beautiful! Hoping to get out a couple more times before quitting (Columbus Day) for the year.

  9. I think he means northwest of Catfish, like in front of the plant !
  10. I plan on fishing this weekend in Mexico, weather and waves looks promising! Shallow in the early AM if nothing happens head out for some Steelhead /Coho's or whatever has an hungry belly Not much on the river fishing so hoping to get a couple more weeks of lake fishing in, Bow season is a little early for my taste so I will wait until after Columbus Day to try and stick a swamp donkey!
  11. I wouldn't normally keep any salmon 15" or even close to that! But with that being said if I have my 8 year old grandson out with me and he reels in a 15" fish and wants to keep it, you can bet your life savings that it is going in the cooler! because there is no way he can reel in a slob all by himself and I want him to be able to enjoy the thrill we all get reeling in a salmon "I did it all by myself Pop-Pop"
  12. Scott, Caught a nice king last fall, with a bloody nose J-Plug 5' behind a 6'' silver dodger, don't see why it wouldn't work behind a flasher. Dave
  13. No need for a leader this time of year, 30 lb mono hook directly to the flasher!
  14. Thanks guy's, nothing on the websites I will keep checking in local stores
  15. Called Berkley Customer Service they are discontinued
  16. Anyone know where I can pick up a couple more of these? bought two from LOU member and love them! Thanks, Dave
