    I think it may relate to the flow of nutrients etc. along the south shore right now. Usually brings temp difference, food for the bait and the bait and the kings follow it. Kinda like the migration of the pelagic fish in the oceans.

    Usually best if separated from transducer (s) on opposite side when posible to minimize turbulence.

    Maine is a huge state and he is going way up north and it is many hours travel to the southern grounds off NH and Mass. so it would probably be more useful info if near where he is going....the Portland Maine area has a bunch of options but that too will be quite aways from where he is going.

    Nice going Cornelis ....I'm jealous that is some great eating right there When we were there I had a fresh haddock sandwich that was out of this world at the Studio restaurant.

    These boats were built like a tank....with real metal not the tinfoil like some of the new ones

    It could be a function of the swivel hanging up somehow with the spinny rotating fast and your trolling speed may have been too fast for that combination.

    During one of them during the eighties I caught a 26 lb and change king and didn't have a scale in the boat and with the adenalin rush I thought it must be at least 30 lbs and puilled up everything and ran into the weigh station at Sodus and when it was weighed I noticed the leader board and it didn't even make the board that time There were some true hogs being caught back then....

    Cool Pelthunter - We stayed about 200 yds from that drawbridge near the memorial and each morning I watched the various types of boats go out and some made my 18 footer look like a little dingy. There are some beauties in that marina where Dot Com and Wicked Pissah keep their boats.

    I think I would alert any marinas in the surrounding area or guys that fix motors to be on the lookout for it if you have the serial number as well as the police in case the person (s) get busted wtih a bunch of stuff.etc.

    I guess in the end we have to adjust to the fact that there are some inconsiderate people out there both in the water and on shore as well and unfortunately it is a part of the current culture and manners are becoming in real short supply. It happens stream fishing, lake fishing and just boating in general and not much wecan do other than not to be on the "offending" end of it.

    It is interesting about the pricing etc. I know there are basically two different main markets: the Japanese and American. The Japanese market is a huge auction setting where the prices are mainly influenced by fish color and shape whereas the American market is heavily influenced by fat content of the fish. On the show they describe both factors in the tail sample and core sample, but depending on each of those things the fish go to different markets. Another thing is that the actual treatment of the fish is VERY important after catching because the fish can build up huge amounts of lactic acid during the fight which can dramatically influence the quality of the meat and color etc. so they have to allow the fish to "cool down" in the water for awhile before icing it and transporting it to the buyer for evaluation.
