great question to ask . i have a good size live well in my saber . in the spring time i can keep fish alive all day long by keeping the pump running non stop . i have a hard time quitting fishing when i am on the fish . as Sk8man said every tenth of a oz counts . so you cant go wrong running to the scale . here is what happen to us this past weekend . we pick up a 12. 3 and 9 .2 laker late afternoon and didn't have time to make it to the sale before it closed . so we fished right to dusk and loaded the boat drove to the store and packed the fish on ice and went to the weigh in bait shop ,slept in the truck till it open the next morning . both fish lost weight that knock us down a place or two . told my buddy we should have kept the boat in the water with live well running all night here is another way to keep them nice and fat in the live well , i had a nice laker in the well and had 10 sawbellys in the live well also the laker ate 4 of the sawbellys

Congrades to Fishstix for winning the A division and lunker . it was nice meeting and chatting with you . Boy what a weekend of fishing saturday we did 50 plus fish, LL and lakers. we fished from 6 am to 6 30 pm and save 2 lakers to weight in , a 9. 2 and a 11. 14 we pack them on ice and went to the bait shop to weight in Sunday morning after spending the night in the parking lot it was back to long point for more laker action. we did another 8 lakers the biggest being 8.8 for the day. we had it with the wind and called it a day . my buddy Craig took 3rd place . we split a few bucks and went home with a pile of LL to eat . be nice if seneca derby was this good . -
remember to fill the reservoir tank with the lower unit in the down position .

i had a 85 horse outboard that the impeller went bad replace it, the next time out the over heat alarm went off . i pulled the the thermostat on the water it ran cool rest of the day . another mistake i made i my time i put a new water pump in and the kit was for more than 1 motor i ended up using a wrong gasket shutting off a water port . lesson learned on my end , good luck getting your motor going

intellisteer.com they have different models to choose from . mine is type s/ t for cable steer helms . it has a motor on the back of the steering helm and is controlled by a wireless receiver witch i can add an autopilot latter . i don't have power steering in my boat so the helm steering motor has no problems steering the boat .
-
i just did some up dates to my boat , a four stroke and a intellisteer wireless remote steering . i wanted to split up the cost of getting into an autopilot for a cable steer boat. so i got the helm part done this year . i can used the remote steer part this year and get the brains and compass part next year . as above post check how much room you got under your dash . they do need 10 inches of room , i had an 1 inch to spear was a tight fit . it took the same type cable that i had in my boat . glad to see the information above about hooking to a lowrance chartplotter , thinking just need head unit of an autopilot now .

we seen you guys go by . you did much better than we did . i caught 1 small bow with a lamprey for the morning fish ,6 to 11 . i fished from my buddy boat that was pulled out from its winter storage . had a couple minor problems but no big deal . we mark a lot of fish on big piles of bait but couldn't get them go . i think the derby going to be a long weekend also . at the ramp i got to watch a mink fool around -

Mexico Launch CLOSED
fisherdude replied to spoonfed-1's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
i wouldn't want to launch there right now . by the looks of the pic the tow vehicle rear axle pumpkin ( differential ) could fill with water threw the vent tubes . not worth it . -

Nothing you can do , roll with the punches . the finger lakes been doable go slow and you be ok . But i have stayed away from the big pond due to the high water . i looked at the leader board of the L O C derby looks like the fishing is good
