  1. Mostly spoon bite for me yesterday but the same on speed and colors. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. I fished it on Friday too. Casted in the morning, then trolled around until 14:30 and then casted again for a couple of hours before calling it. Came in with one scale on a hook on my tube and had one rip trolling in 21fow. That’s was all my excitement for the day. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. Welll done. Looks like it was a great day! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. I had an HDS 7 touch do that a few years ago and fixed it with the restore factory settings. I let it detect the transducer during the initial setup and for some reason it worked again even though it was the same model I had selected before the reset. I can’t remember if my screen showed the same issues you have, and I saw above that you don’t want to factory reset, but if you get desperate it may help. 5. Yep. I had the same thing. Dealer put my ducer on the step in front of the main motor with the bottom of the plastic even with the step. When I trolled the whole screen was green with turbulence. I lowered it so the metal bracket is even with the step and the plastic of the ducer sits just below it. Turbulence problem is gone.
  6. Great stuff. I bought a bunch of big baits for fall fishing last year and love that swimming dawg but I have the 11 incher. I just ordered a smaller one along with a smaller bucktail to throw in the next couple of weeks. And I’m so worried about handling a musky that I haven’t even taken one out of the water yet! My pictures all look like this. Hopefully I’ll get one worthy of a proper picture soon but I will be very careful handling the fish for it. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. I’ll take these. Will pm you Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  8. I wonder if it’s rubbing on the edge of the bait head and getting damaged. I’ve never had one break but I’m running 40# fluoro to the head. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  9. I was out yesterday afternoon. Had a follow and got one in the net on a 6” twitch bait in about 10fow. No size though. Mid to upper 30’s Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  10. The only time I’ve had fluoro leaders break in the middle was this spring brown fishing. They both broke where my leader was bent around the guide at the rod tip for storage. I know I banged them a few times putting them away so assume that caused the damage. Other than that, and a bad spool I bought for steelhead once, I’ve never had an issue. I use fluoro leaders for all of my trolling rigs, leaders on my spinning rods and straight on most of my bait casters. Seaguar leaders and Sunline main. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  11. Just saw this at The Reel Shot site. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  12. Wow. I just got back from fishing out of Wright’s. When I went to buy ice they said they are closed and can’t sell ice but didn’t clarify that they were closing everything. I had planned to go back in the morning but I guess not now. Thanks for the post. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. I have used RAM for smaller units and Cisco for the bigger ones. RAM’s are less expensive and are infinitely adjustable but not as stable. I had them on my last boat with a 5 & 7” unit and they were great. I would have to readjust them occasionally because they’d slip out of position though. The Ciscos are obviously a lot more stable and look nicer. I have them on my boat now for my 12 & 15” units. The side to side adjustment isn’t all that helpful though because each increment is just too much for the little tweaks I would usually want. Up/down and angle adjustment are great. I fish out of a bass style boat so probably bounce thru chop more than most trollers. That’s when my RAMs would slip a bit so the stability issue I had wouldn’t be a problem for everyone. 14. Arch shape is often scroll speed or transducer angle. Not marking the balls could be transducer or cone angle. If you’re not running deep enough they won’t be in the cone because you’re only showing a small area right below the transducer. This is how it is for me shallow fishing Browns. My side imaging shows the balls but my standard sonar doesn’t. If you’re running deep then use the wider cone, I think it was 83Hz when I had my elite. You’ll pick up a much larger area and should see the balls unless there’s too much blow back. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  15. I launched my 18’ Lund there but, as said, once you’re out of the creek you have to be careful to stay in the channel. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  16. You got that right, Sk8man. I went 29/33 my first trip this year, my best day ever on browns, and thought I had it down. The next day I fished the same water for longer and went 3/4. Found out later that the fish were still there I just had them so dialed in the first day that when I went back the next day I played with colors/profiles/speed, but not depth. Ended up that the fish were just feeding higher the second day. Should have known that when I picked up my leadcore rod over my head to avoid a snag and it got slammed but I just couldn't get away from the set from the day before. Every day, or even hour, is a little different and you just gotta search and play around until you find what works.
  17. It was about 28 1/2” out of Lake Ontario. Really wanted a weight but didn’t want to keep it out of the water while I got my scale out so just laid it on the bump board and got it back in the water. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Got this Atlantic today fishing browns. Pic doesn’t do justice to how pretty that green on its back was. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. I always plugged my livewell intake for winter fishing. The dealer would put antifreeze in the lines during the winterization and a bolt that plugged the intake. I’d just remove it in the spring once we were safely above freezing. Maybe overly cautious but not a lot of work. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Same here. Got mine today & can't wait to try them. Thanks!
  21. This is from the Elite tourney on the river this summer. Pretty interesting. https://video.bassmaster.com/detail/videos/top-videos/video/5713863086001/what-you-need-to-know-about-fizzing-smallmouth?autoStart=true&j=22253765&sfmc_sub=261679346&l=4153317_HTML&u=479532445&mid=10688361&jb=0 Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  22. I’ve run a few different colors. Nearly all my fish have come on the green glow with black ladder back though. Had some real good days in mid July last year on it. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  23. Nice job! I saw you guys launching. I had a strange day. Lots of bites on meat rigs but bunch of dumped fish, a wrapped up fish that took forever to get in and more tangles than I’ve had combined over the last couple years. Gonna have to be a little more careful the next time I run meat rigs by myself but there’s some nice fish out there. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  24. A lot of the pipes are shown on Navionics too Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
